May we have a source link please?

This is a bad idea because ecosystems require certain flora to be balanced and just flooding places with invasive, especially non-native flora is dangerous to them.

[-] oftheair 2 points 2 days ago

Sure, my comment wasn't to you specifically so apologies if it felt that way.

Empathy is not required to be a good person. There are plenty of people without empathy that are good and/or do their best to be.

Let's end this idea that empathy is some pinnacle of being good please.

Edit: We don't agree with Musk that it's a fundamental flaw to be clear. But the general idea it's required to be and/or do good? Incorrect.

[-] oftheair 2 points 3 days ago

Hehe, we came here to say this. Good luck!

Why not make one?

Sure, or we could flap our wings.

For anybody having difficulty reading the text:

Anti Acknowledgements

There have unfortunately also been people who have been less than helpful in my journey here. I wanted to acknowledge those too, because I know I am not unique in this experience.

No thank you to the physics study association that made me sing songs about how women couldn't study physics without sleeping with the professor, the day I stepped into university life. No thank you to the 5th year physics student that decided to assign me a 'stripper name' within the first minute of meeting me in the physics coffee corner in my first year. No thank you to the technician that was responsible for onboarding me on the use of the cluster in my third year who raised his eyebrows and asked me if that meant I was some sort of "computer girl". No thank you to the senior researcher that sent me utterly inappropriate texts after a conference, then proceeded to 'apologise' months later by telling me they had not been meant for me anyway so "no hard feelings remain hopefully". And no thank you to him for attending every conference I've been to since. No thank you to the people who told me that it was "surprising" that I was doing a PhD since I was a girl. No thank you to the man who mistook me for a coffee lady at a conference, and after having to correct him two times that I did not work there, responded with "you should consider it". No thank you to the researcher that asked me what I was wearing underneath my outfit during a conference. No thank you to the physicist who declared to a room full of other physicists that biologists "don't know how to design an experiment". No thank you to the people who have called me scary instead of strong and intimidating instead of intelligent. And finally, no thank you to the executive board of the TU Delft, whose knee-jerk reaction to being held up to a mirror about the social safety at the university, was to sue the party holding up the mirror instead of looking at the problems they highlighted.

I wish I could tell you this has all made me stronger somehow but in reality it has only shattered my confidence. You have made me feel like I do not belong in science and I cannot forgive you for that.

We created TransSpecies (lemmy.blahaj.zone)
submitted 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) by oftheair to c/main

We created TransSpecies for all of you that don't see yoursel{f/ves} as human and would like to or are doing your best to transition to something that isn't that whether that's internally, socially, with technology or surgery (though it should be noted we don't gatekeep, exploring your identity is a-okay with us and there's no one way to be TransSpecies).

We will not be answering any questions or putting up with any remarks about us not existing or being mentally ill etc, such comments will just be reported and you will be banned from that community.

For all the rest of you, hope to see you there!

Hi all!

Introduce yoursel{f/ves} here.

I am a faerie most of the time, a member of the fae so my form sometimes changes.

Since we are plural the others may introduce themselves if they wish to.

So a partner and us are thinking about getting married so we can emigrate somewhere (we do genuinely want to be together). However we're both ace-spec and thus don't have sex.

We're also both not cis, nor monogamous.

They're also aromantic and thus with all these things we don't behave in a typical mono allocishet way.

So is there any hope for us or will marriage fraud investigators tell us no without us kissing, having sex and generally behaving as expected?

Hi, so we might have need of vegan condoms and/or dams that aren't made from latex. Problem is we can find no vegan brands or versions that either use polyurethene or polyisoprene instead of latex anywhere online, or at least none that are explicitly listed as such.

Do y'all know of any? Thank you.

Edit: Seems like the best options so far are Pasante Unique or any of the Skyn brand condoms. Thanks to all who helped!

Hello, we were wondering if there were any Peritoneal Pull Through Vaginoplasty surgeons in the UK, or if not or they're not good where would y'all recommend going?

Not currently seeing the GIC because of long waiting lists, so don't know if that's a concern. We are on hormones though.

Also, haven't had any other surgeries yet, should we do before consulting them?

Thanks!

We are trying to create posts in our new community !kink@lemmy.blahaj.zone and for some reason they aren't appearing or if they are we can't see them from this account.

Is this a blahaj problem (possibly due to the upgrades) or are new communities not allowed to have posts in them until they've been vetted or some such or is it some other problem we don't yet understand?

Edit: Figured it out, we had "Show NSFW content" off in our settings even though those posts are not marked NSFW themselves it must inherent the 'NSFW'ness from the community, strange but makes sense.

So because getting to see the GIC is seemingly impossible, we are currently being prescribed three things by gender G.P (who have become decreasingly helpful over time):

  • Finasteride (started 2-ish years ago)
  • Estrogen patches (started 2-ish years ago)
  • Progesterone (started a year in)

Current prescription states:

  • Finasteride - 5mg taken in the morning, once daily
  • Estrogen patches - 150mcg released over 24 hours, changed twice weekly.
  • Progesterone suppository - 200mg taken once daily in the evening

We were watching a video debunking sci-show's video about HRT and it said that finasteride is a not an AA and effectively only stops hair loss (which we don't think we had before starting).

We have some problems as our chest seems to have either stopped developing or ran into problems and seems to have developed tubular breasts syndrome (they're an okay size but a bit triangular and don't look quite 'right' to us) but we aren't sure if this is because we did something wrong or not?

So our questions are:

  • Should we stop our current regimen of finasteride?
  • Did we start taking progesterone too early?
  • Will our chest continue to grow and work its way out of this shape/problem?

So today we finally got around to reading the instructions for some of our patches (Estradot) and realised they say not to put them in the fridge (or freezer but we wouldn't put patches in the freezer anyway). We took them out but they have been in there for months.

Are they ruined or less effective?

We started doing it because our other patches (Evorel) denatured once a while ago, and wanted to avoid the same fate with these ones since it's been a hot summer and have nowhere really cool to store them since we are on the top floor of a building and thus it gets very hot up here, even in our drawers.

So we are wondering what exactly is the problem with them being in the fridge and are they ineffective now or will they be okay now that they're in the a drawer and hopefully stay cool for the rest of the month?

We have left our other patches (Evorel) in the fridge as they don't say not to.

Hi there, we are interested in specific types of skirts (or dresses), namely those that go up at the front and down at the back (especially if there's a significant difference i.e. shorter at the front and longer at the back so the back going down is obvious) and was wondering if any of y'all knew their name or where to get them.

We would especially love it if they could have multiple layers but a single layer would be okay if that's not possible.

Oh and a request, if possible, since we don't use amazon since they do not treat their workers well we would prefer no links to them, thank you!

Extra bonus points if any of them have pockets, but that's a big ask, we know.
