That's a good point. I have therapy on Friday and I've been bottling up a lot of those feelings for that. But I'm going to bring it up to my wife. We've sort of bridged the emotional gap to the point that I think she's comfortable affirming me without feeling concerned about the whole thing.

My wife and I have life plans that make HRT unrealistic in the near future. We're mostly concerned with fertility and my wife is still coming to terms with my identity. She understands it - she's just grappling with the possible future changes.

In the meantime, I'm starting to do what I can to transition without HRT. Shaving. Exercise and dieting. Growing my hair out. Facial routines and hair routines. Etc.

I found FaceApp (like many other trans folks) and I've become a little obsessive. I take at least one photo a day and I've experimented with using the generated photos in private accounts for a euphoria hit. But I'm feeling like it's making me constantly obsess with transitioning. I'm perusing trans timelines, MTF fashion, etc. on my phone a lot more than usual. Before using the app, I didn't really have "goals". I just wanted to get as close to feminine as possible. Now, I see this other face and I want to be her. I feel trapped in this body.

Anyways, I guess I'm just venting here. It hurts to feel this way.

Are there any shows you watch that are made and broadcast only in Greenland that you would recommend to an American?

Yeah that's fair! I guess I just don't want to lose what little butt I have. I have the classic issue of fat in the belly and not too much elsewhere.

I've done some preliminary research on this topic, but – crucially – I don't have a gym available to me. I originally thought I should just start running to lose weight, but some people say running can be bad if you're trying to form a feminine physique. I think their claim was: you lose weight, but you might also lose fat/muscle where you want it.

So, what are you folks doing?

  • Yoga?
    • What kind of yoga and where do you source the education materials?
  • At home workouts?
    • Are body weight squats enough?
    • What about glutes?

What about diet? Do y'all drink alcohol at all? I typically eat vegan (80% of the time). How do you manage your diet?

Parks? Gross. I like parking lots.

The most generous assumption is that they use statistics to determine correlations like this (e.g., deleted selfies resulted in a high CTR for beauty ads so they made that a part of their algo). The least generous interpretation is exactly what you're thinking: an asshole came up with it because it's logical and effective.

Either way, ethics needs to be a bigger part of the programmers education. And we, as a society, need to make algorithms more transparent (at least social media algorithms). Reddit's trending algorithm used to be open source during the good ole days.

I know Arch is all about minimalism, but I'm also limited on time and I just wanted to get a working GUI. Is it a huge faux pas to install all the default packages?

Kung Pao Enter the Fist. Warning: you must be immature and somewhat comfortable with jokes that might not have aged well. I haven't watched it since I was a teen, but I remember thinking it was hilarious back then...

Maybe just stick with Space Balls and The Room.

It's nice to know that they don't even have the propensity to care if I'm trans. They aren't perfect (my cat is a gremlin and my dog loves to dig), but I don't care. They are the best. My dog and cat have comforted me in my worst moments.

We are so lucky to live in a world where pets exist. Domesticated animals weren't a guarantee for us; especially cutesy predators. It's pretty awesome that we have mini wolves and tigers that hang out with us. Their love is pure <3

I'm a Software Engineer and I want to feel closer to the trans community. I live in a rural, remote, area and I don't have much of a chance of meeting fellow trans folks. I was wondering if there are publicly "trans" software. E.g., web applications that might help trans individuals, software that's just branded LGBTQ+, trans developers that need help in their repositories, etc. I don't have a ton of free time, but after my child goes to sleep (around 7pm-8pm) I find myself a bit idle. It might be nice to work on something passively a little here and there that supports the trans community in a small way.
