That looks like a bottom to me 😏

[-] joyjoy@lemmy.zip 15 points 1 month ago

Maybe if you introduce another dog person

[-] cosmicrose 74 points 1 month ago

I’ll show you why they put “cum laude” on my diploma

[-] errer@lemmy.world 23 points 1 month ago

I’d like summa cum laude plz :3

[-] vaionko@sopuli.xyz 15 points 1 month ago

In Finnish "laude" is the bench you sit on in a sauna. You can imagine the laughter when a bunch of teens learn about cum laude

[-] Septimaeus@infosec.pub 7 points 1 month ago

lol sauna bench cum? I’m so honored!

[-] cybervseas@lemmy.world 56 points 1 month ago

[-] OMGWTFBBQLOL@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago

I feel for you kids, I do, I had a 25+ yr IT career with an economics degree and very little skill, good luck!

[-] LordAmplifier@pawb.social 6 points 1 month ago

I'm not in CS but in a similar situation, graduated 8 months ago and can't find a job that has anything to do with my degree :3

Same!!! Spent 6 months looking for CS jobs and I've now given up and will probably soon be working as a cashier. I will still be doing game dev in my spare time though, which is what I'd much rather be doing than software dev. Maybe it's not so bad (massive copium).

engineering grad in 2025... so many wonderful job opportunities await (in a parallel universe, this one just has fake job postings)

[-] not_IO 13 points 1 month ago

i feel you, i genuinely considered making an only fans or something 😿

[-] Lumelore 6 points 1 month ago

😿 I did too, but ultimately I don't think I would have been able to handle it so I backed out.

[-] WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today 4 points 1 month ago

Me too, but I live with parents, and don't have the environment to properly...do my job.

Certainly for the best.

[-] Damage@feddit.it 9 points 1 month ago

industrial automation

[-] themaninblack@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

Plenty of jobs in CS that stoke ennui so no worries

It is the afternoon. My phone dings. I slide the notification open.

Thank you for your interest in being part of our team! However, at this time—

I want to shoot myself. Think I'll just quietly starve instead.

Blahaj users are one integer underflow from reinventing alpha (fe)males. Be advised!

[-] Unlix86 28 points 1 month ago

Woof woof woof woof woof woof woof c:

[-] Jankatarch@lemmy.world 13 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

I wish I could pull that look but I have the body proportions of a dwarf blacksmith from LoTR.

[-] TroublesomeTalker@feddit.uk 8 points 1 month ago

Sounds like you already have the alternative answer, now you just need the courage and the niche community to go with it.

[-] not_IO 6 points 1 month ago

that's kinda hard tbf!

[-] SuperNovaStar 2 points 1 month ago

Modern science is pretty amazing stuff.

Or, alternanatively, you can have an all natural fursuit. Some people are into that 🤔

[-] yetAnotherUser@discuss.tchncs.de 11 points 1 month ago

Doesn't seem like you'll get a master degree anytime soon.

[-] edinbruh@feddit.it 10 points 1 month ago

What a coincidence! I got my CS bachelor in 2022!

[-] Gonzako@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago

I'll gladly adopt any CS student like that. I'd love to refresh my graph theory

[-] jacksilver@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

You just need to know everything is DAGs (Directed Acyclic Graph):

  • Workflow automation (like Airflow) - DAG
  • Distributed Computing (like Spark) - DAG
  • All Deep Learning models (also, surprisingly) - DAG

You must post before you leave

Be nice. Assume others have good intent (within reason).

Block or ignore posts, comments, and users that irritate you in some way rather than engaging. Report if they are actually breaking community rules.

Most 196 posts are memes, shitposts, cute images, or even just recent things that happened, etc. There is no real theme, but try to avoid posts that are very inflammatory, offensive, very low quality, or very "off topic".

Bigotry is not allowed, this includes (but is not limited to): Homophobia, Transphobia, Racism, Sexism, Abelism, Classism, or discrimination based on things like Ethnicity, Nationality, Language, or Religion.

Moderator Guidelines

Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.
