Not going to read the article. I'm just going to say that we live in the dumbest timeline.

Transwomen, who have Vaginas and can get Pregnant, are NOT Women!

They're saying that her baby bump looks fake and thus she must not be a cis woman at all.

These weirdos are lost in their own hateful reality 🤦🏻

[-] Sunshine@lemmy.ca 43 points 6 days ago

They gonna lose it when the first trans woman gets pregnant in the future.

[-] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 32 points 6 days ago

Yeah. I'm frankly surprised that they apparently aren't flipping out about trans men getting pregnant and still retaining their gender identities..

[-] garbagebagel@lemmy.world 38 points 6 days ago

That's way beyond their level of comprehension tbh. These same people just don't seem to even realize that trans men exist.

Misogyny?? On MY Internet???

[-] AuroraZzz@lemmy.world 5 points 6 days ago

Trans women getting pregnant is actually something that already happens lol. It involves a bunch of immunosuppressants and a uterus transplant that has to be taken out again after the pregnancy

[-] Crackhappy@lemmy.world 12 points 6 days ago

Excuse me what? I call bullshit.

[-] Nouvellalia@lemmy.world 7 points 6 days ago

Yeah, that's the sketch of how we think it might work, but there are many hurdles before we even have something to try. It's certainly never been done.

[-] kuiskaaja@lemmy.ml 5 points 6 days ago

that's cus it is

[-] hovercat 1 points 6 days ago

https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/procedures/uterus-transplant

There have been over 100 uterus transplants performed worldwide, with over 70 live births. The first successful transplant was in 2011 in Sweden.

[-] kuiskaaja@lemmy.ml 7 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

how many of them have been on trans women?

edit: just did a web search. the answer is 0 because it's not possible

[-] hovercat 2 points 6 days ago

I mean, even for cis women it's basically a brand new procedure with little data, for something that's not considered life-saving. It would be highly unethical to try one with current methods, but there's nothing outright "impossible" about it.

[-] Firebirdie713 4 points 6 days ago

Trans women getting pregnant can happen, because there are intersex people who id as trans women who are born with a uterus and could give birth.

But there are no cases yet of a perisex trans woman born with a penis and testes getting reassignment and a uterus transplant and giving birth. It may be possible in the near future, but not with current medical techniques.

You’re only a woman if you’re currently with child?

Transhaters are fucking crazy.

many transvestigators believe that all celebrities and people in positions of power are trans in a phenomenon they call “Elite Gender Inversion.” a guy reading above quote and looking confused afterwards.

[-] ilinamorato@lemmy.world 13 points 6 days ago

So, ok, wait.

  1. First of all, she looks great.

  2. Second, I'm two years younger than her, and I already couldn't imagine having another newborn at this age. Woof. Good luck to her.

  3. Ok. So to the matter of this article. The Princess Diaries came out in 2001. They're suggesting that gender-affirming care was already common enough and good enough that an unknown actress could access it in the late 1990s and have it pass undetected?!

Honestly I think that's harder to believe than anything I've read today.

[-] ilinamorato@lemmy.world 11 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

Also, why would any prominent supposedly trans actress, having successfully passed as cis for 25 years of extreme scrutiny, choose to draw attention to her gender expression now? At an age when it would be somewhat unusual to be pregnant? In the midst of maybe the least-accepting environment for trans rights in history?

[-] ryper@lemmy.ca 7 points 6 days ago

This is (at least) her third pregnancy. She probably didn't expect this nonsense on the third go round.

[-] ilinamorato@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

Sure, but that doesn't make it significantly more reasonable.

[-] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 6 days ago

Second, I'm two years younger than her,

Made me curious so I looked up her age on Wikipedia.

Turns out I'm 48 days younger than her and look about two decades older 😄

[-] VitoRobles@lemmy.today 13 points 6 days ago

In the 90s, they would call it "gay" as a sign of dismissal or something is bullshit.

"Oh they polluted the river? That's gay."

Is that the new "trans"?

"I got a $80 parking ticket. That's so trans."

[-] Jiggle_Physics@quokk.au 18 points 6 days ago

They keep talking about how fake it looks as if pictures of celebrities, especially ones at special events, aren't modified to hell before being published, and that is after they spent hours with professional make up artists, wardrobe/designers, etc. to make themselves look as photoshop perfect as physically possible before they even get the photoshop treatment

[-] mrmisses@lemmy.world 9 points 6 days ago

How much lead is in these morons drinking water? They keep getting stupider

They are clearly in need of serious medical help. Perhaps they could be sent to a reeducation camp somewhere
