Pro-life and anti-abortion, but they'll kill the kid before it turns five once it's out of the womb.

Love the hypocrisy.

As much as I hate that this child will have to suffer, I hope that parent watches that sweet little innocent life be squeezed out by all of the horrific and completely preventable diseases that the unfeeling and indifferent natural world has to offer as it shrieks into the night with a scream of pain, agony, and suffering that cuts so deep into the lizard brain of a mammal when it's young is in distress.

And I hope those screams echo in that parent's psyche for the rest of their miserable existence until they're on their own death bed and as they draw their last death rattle where no post-rationalisation can save them from the death-throw lucid state that they killed their own child and will suffer for eternity in whatever hell their religion has told them they've booked the express pass to.

Where I will be greeting them with a wicked grin and a fresh welcoming hot poker.

Or someone sees the obvious medical neglect and gets that child appropriately innoculated and it grows up for a happy and fulfilled life away from these evolutionary dead-ends.

At this point I'm happy with either outcome.

I endorse hating the right. I endorse creative writing exercises. I do not endorse this.

I think it's more 'I can't stop this child coming to harm, so I hope the harm to the child does as much damage to the fuckers who chose harm as it possibly could'

(this rant isn't at you, sorry if it comes across that way)

I fucking hate how people keep perpetuating the lie that conservatives are pro-life, considering they're 'anti-anything that helps poor people'. Healthcare? Food assistance? Schooling? Get fucked kid, you should have thought about that before being born to poor parents. This carlin quote from 30 years ago is more true now that it ever was when he was alive (emphasis mine):

Pro-life conservatives are obsessed with the fetus from conception to 9 months. After that, they don’t wanna know about you. They don’t wanna hear from you. No nothing! No neonatal care, no daycare, no Head Start, no school lunch, no food stamps, no welfare, no nothing. If you’re pre-born, you’re fine, if you’re preschool, you’re fucked

Forced birth mother fuckers.....

Because it always was a misnomer. The name was chosen to fool the naive idiots into supporting the stripping away women's rights one-by-one, beginning with their reproductive rights.

Just like anti-forced diversity is a misnomer and they want to do away with every media showing people who don't look like them.

Just like "anti-DEI pro-merit" is a misnomer, and just want to hire unqualified people if the alternative is hiring blacks, the disabled, LGBTQ+, etc.

Just like "diversity of opinions" is a misnomer, and somehow they don't care about "leftist" (read: left of Mussolini) opinions being represented, but are happy to platform actual nazis.

Good answer. Children’s lives globally are improved in a second. Its inane not to. Otherwise, it’s a threat to herd immunity, which may as well be biological warfare at this point with all the unnecessary measles cases for example.

The conservative mind genuinely believes that vaccines are harmful thanks to fox news and RFK Jr. There's no recovering from that. The kids will die and they will still insist it's the right thing.

However, that does not justify mandatory vaccinations. The US has historically denied, medically abused, and withheld consent from minority patients. To this day, black women are still receiving poorer outcomes due to a history of neglect and blatant discrimination. While most vaccine deniers are not among this cohort, mandatory vaccines would ultimately marginalize the very people conservatives aim to marginalize.

Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.
