"New study shows that food has nutrients"

[-] Luvs2Spuj@lemmy.world 22 points 4 months ago

Got a source for that ridiculous claim?

[-] Klear@sh.itjust.works 15 points 4 months ago

I got a source of nutrients and you won't believe what it is!

[-] nailbar@sopuli.xyz 5 points 4 months ago

Unless they meant that's what you do with water to stay healthy

[-] TootSweet@lemmy.world 55 points 4 months ago

Vegetables are “parts of plants that are consumed by humans or other animals as food.”

Sweet potatoes are both tubers and vegetables.

[-] superkret@feddit.org 1 points 4 months ago

By this definition, grass and tree bark are vegetables

[-] mkwt@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago

Carrots are also roots.

"Death hates these two life-prolonging hacks!"

Article: eat veggies and get exercise.

[-] weeeeum@lemmy.world 24 points 4 months ago

I hate when people say that something is healthy because it has "nutrients". I mean, yeah, it's probably true but everything has nutrients. And of course there are supplements and stuff which are literally pure nutrients.

[-] BleatingZombie@lemmy.world 29 points 4 months ago

"Eat rocks. They're a great source of minerals"

[-] jabathekek@sopuli.xyz 17 points 4 months ago

Jesus Christ Marie, they ARE minerals.

[-] Smorty 2 points 4 months ago

Eat iron. Guess what it's rich in.

[-] PraiseTheSoup@lemm.ee 1 points 4 months ago
[-] Swedneck@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 4 months ago

on the other side of the spectrum there's "healthy is when salad" which also drives me up the wall

the worst part is that healthy food can mostly be described by "avoid sugar and pre-processed stuff as much as possible, eat as much whole-grain and vegetables as possible", but i guess that's one comma too much for readers to engage with..

[-] RobotZap10000@feddit.nl 1 points 4 months ago

It's what plants crave.

[-] immortal_crab 21 points 4 months ago

i use red tree fruits as projectile defense against metal stick wielding humans wearing white coats

CNN had a run that at time approximated a good one, but it's time for them to go visit the rabbits now.
