It's not entirely on you. Accusing you of mansplaining is not cool, she should've just said something like "i'm sharing this because I'm looking for emotional support, not solutions, so please stop trying to solve my problems when I'm just venting".

In a sense, how people react to having problems shared with them is a cultural difference, neither is right or wrong but they can be jarring and confusing when you're used to one culture but interact with a different one. But it's not fair to just assume the other culture is acting in bad faith

The difference between veganism and religion is that one is based on facts, the other is not.

  • It's true that other species of animals are sentient, they have nervous systems similar enough to ours that we know they can feel pleasure and pain.
  • It's true that we kill billions of them per year.
  • It's true that the vast majority of them are factory farmed (74% worldwide, 99% in the US).
  • It's true that humans at all stages of life can thrive on a properly planned vegan diet, according to most major health organizations.
  • It's true that animal agriculture is extremely inefficient and loses a lot of calories from crops being put towards feeding animals (see: trophic levels)
  • It's true that animal agriculture has a huge impact on the environment compared to feeding crops directly to humans.

so get out of here with that nonsense that veganism is religious zealotry. I don't have time to cite a source for each point, but they're all super easily verified. Veganism is looking at the impact of your choices with clear eyes and choosing compassion over personal pleasure. It's choosing to live and let live, rather than forcing death and misery on other species because you like the taste of their flesh and secretions.

"you really don’t think that de Dutch NOC would send someone to Paris who IS a real risk? No, he isn’t a risk.”

Given how often powerful groups cover up and protect pedos in their ranks, yeah I do think they would send someone who's a risk. It's not surprising, just disappointing

the only time you should be going the speed limit anywhere to the left of the furthest right lane is if you're passing someone who's going below the speed limit in the rightmost lane

I think there's also a power aspect. Your mom is your parent, someone with some power or status over you, so if someone sleeps with her they're now on the level of your parents, it implies that you're no longer equal peers but a step-parent/child relationship

I have waybar set to be on the right side of my screen, but the wallpaper goes "under" it, such that if I have two windows open, the center of the wallpaper isn't in the center of the gaps between the windows, if that makes sense.

I'd like it so that the center of the wallpaper is in the center of the gaps between two windows. Or in other words, so that the wallpaper goes from the left edge of the screen to the left edge of the bar, so the bar just has a static color bg.

Does anyone know how to do that?

You don't get to the top without killing more animals each year than the total number of humans that have ever existed 💪😎😤

Is there anything you can bring kayaking, swimming, or really anywhere people are fishing that will scare the fish away from the fishers? Ideally something not very obvious, and for kayaking something you can easily turn on near fishers and off when you're not near them?

I'm sure there are other groups that do it too, but I've noticed it most often from christian apologists, probably in part case I like listening to debates/discussions with them from atheist youtubers, but I've also noticed it talking to christians myself.

It always feels super weird to me, but that's also coming from someone who feels weird with eye contact and saying other peoples names, so maybe it's just me. Has anybody else noticed it, or are there other people you've noticed that do that? Does it seem weird to you?

Vegan gym shirts? (slrpnk.net)
submitted 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago) by iiGxC@slrpnk.net to c/vegan@slrpnk.net

Anybody know any good vegan themed gym shirts? I'm thinking something similar to dom mazzetis bro science shirts (yeah he's a shitty person but his shirts can be pretty creative), but obviously centered around lifting as a vegan. And sustainably and ethically sourced. Bonus if they have tall sizes

Not sure this counts as a documentary since it's only 10 minutes, but I thought it was well done and communicated the points clearly and concisely
