State of Fear is in my collection, but if I've read it, I don't recall it at all. You've just inspired me to bump it up on my read list.

Also you can say fuck on the Internet.

Gee, thanks. That's totally good to know since it's my first day here and all! 👍

The .. problem with .. self censorship ... is driving a fucking shift to the fucking alt-right

Oh, the fuck it is. See? I wanted to use the word "fuck" that time, and I chose to - I don't always, and that is my prerogative. Shouldn't have to worry about self-un-censoring my style of speaking to keep a bunch of internet edgelords from getting their panties in a wad because I didn't say the swear.

I used to be all about "fsck" but after watching The Good Place I switched it up to "fork" lol.

Yes, I'm aware I can curse on the internet - it's not my first day here. I use the exact words I mean to use, and I'm more a fan of the precision F-strike than indiscriminately carpet-bombing the place with "fucks". Stop word-policing me (and others).

Edited to add alt text.

Yeah, this went over about as well as expected. And the irony and hypocrisy of the free speech absolutists coming out of the woodwork to tell us all what we can and can't say is not lost on me.

Had to shrink the font a bit; looks better all on one line.

Is that good? I'm old and have no idea what that means.😆

Ooooh, I'm totally adding that to my email signature.

Aaaaaaand done.

I quit smoking over a decade ago, but if I had the opportunity to light a cigarette from the Olympic torch...I'd take it. Probably also use that cigarette to light the pilot lights on my water heater and then all my showers would be heated by the Olympic flame (technically speaking).

Life imitates art:

I say exactly what I want to say and fork anyone who has a problem with it.

If those are my two options...start looking for my projects on Codeberg I guess.

I had the same problem - the correct size blinds I bought were broken and had to return them and could only get a set that was 1 inch shorter 😠

Ended up moving the mounts slightly inward so the gaps were on the edges. The two smaller gaps on the sides were a lot less noticeable than the gap in the middle. Also ended up putting curtains up to cover the edge gaps, though it wasn't strictly necessary. I keep them pulled to the side, and they're purely decorative / to hide the edge gaps.

Saw Goldeneye posted earlier. Sticking with the 90's Bond theme theme.

Peg: You know, you've got a lot of nerve. Did I come over to your house when you won the Women in Banking award?

Marcy: Yes, you did! And you stole a whole chicken!

Experts say that if the new drug gets approved, it may lead to a big shift in how we treat the condition.

For decades, the primary treatment for sleep apnea has been continuous positive airway pressure (or CPAP). Before bed, those with the condition put on a face mask that is connected to a CPAP machine, which keeps the airway open by forcing air into it. The machines are effective, but many find them so noisy, cumbersome or uncomfortable that they end up abandoning them.

Now, a more appealing option may be on the way, according to a news release from Apnimed, a pharmaceutical company focused on treating sleep apnea. On Wednesday, the company announced a second round of positive Phase 3 clinical trial results for a first-of-its-kind oral pill that can be taken just before bedtime to help keep a person’s airway open.
