Frankenstein was the surname so, wouldn't they both be Frankenstein? In the sense that Victor, the doctor, created "the monster" would it not be feasible that they share the last name?

Sure, but since the monster was assembled from the cadavers of several people, it would be fitting if he carried their names too, so a septuple-barreled name is the obvious choice.

It applies to dogs. I know someone whose dog is named Fidel. It means loyal. His surname happens to be Castro.
So on the vet papers he’s listed as Fidel Castro.

Iirc, some adaptations name him Adam, for the line “I ought to be thy Adam.”
He is also considered Victor’s son in some adaptations. So Adam Frankenstein wouldn’t be off base either.

I find it interesting that the monster canonically speaks French.
He should go by Big Green. He could have a cool nickname if only he tried.

I believe he was actually vegan in the book but I never read it.

one thing that is often misunderstood is how smart and cunning the monster is. And he only really harms people in relation to punishing Dr. Frankenstien

so yeah, I forgot that part. My copy is a 1963 paperback. It has a beautiful image on the cover but its starting to fall part, the cover has come apart from the seam. Its been a few years since I have read it but it is one of those books that stays with you, for sure!
So technically vegan in that he doesn't eat meat (or veggies for that matter).
He's a level 7 vegan in that he doesn't eat anything that casts a shadow.
So only stuff grown in total darkness?
Like in the famous cookbook, Artichoke Heart of Darkness
Thought that was level 5. Level 6 excludes anything upon which a shadow may be cast, not sure what comes after that.
