1 bottle of white ~ 600 calories

3 hard boiled eggs - 225 calories

5 oz steak ~ 325 calories

For a total of 1150 calories. You'll need to be pretty active for a 5 lbs loss but you'd definitely lose some weight on this diet. Now I do not envy the heinous shits a diet of pure protein, coffee, and white wine will give you

[-] new_guy@lemmy.world 129 points 1 month ago

Mostly of the weight loss would be water.

No carbs plus alcohol and coffee is just diuretics

[-] khannie@lemmy.world 55 points 1 month ago

Plus anything that was in your intestines / bowels. There's no fibre in there at all.

I used to have to "make weight" and water and empty intestines are the short version of how it's done.

[-] Apytele@sh.itjust.works 32 points 1 month ago

Oh hey that's the main way men get eating disorders!

[-] khannie@lemmy.world 25 points 1 month ago

Is that true? It wouldn't surprise me. When I was competing in that weight category sport I had a very skewed view of what I considered overweight (for me).

99% of the population would have considered me lean as fuck when I thought otherwise.

[-] prole 10 points 1 month ago

I was going to say, sounds like the shit the wrestlers used to do back in high school. Always seemed wildly unhealthy.

[-] Buddahriffic@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago

Imo weight class should be determined by an average of a bunch of weigh-ins for weeks or months before an event. Then, on the day of the event, allow some tolerance over the max weight but only if the average stays under. If the average creeps up into the tolerance zone, then they go up a weight class. Make the weight classes based on healthy habits rather than basically cheating in an unhealthy way to make weight a day before, then bulking back up to whatever weight for the actual fight.

Not that I have any stake in any of that, so my say isn't really relevant.

If you lose more than water weight in 3 days, it's probably due to traumatic illness or amputation.

The avg person expending 2000 Calories a day means an ~850 Calorie deficit. 2550 deficit over the course of 3days. That allows about 3lbs of muscle (700C) loss or almost 1lb of fat (3000-3500C)loss.

Up the calories expended via being active and you could reach the 5lb goal. With such severe caloric deficit nost of the weight loss would be muscle unfortunately.

They left out the cigarettes.

[-] The_Picard_Maneuver@lemmy.world 80 points 1 month ago

In the 70s, it's probably just a given.

[-] Fedizen@lemmy.world 53 points 1 month ago

Some stinky ass farts coming from an all egg and beef diet.

[-] dejected_warp_core@lemmy.world 65 points 1 month ago

Don't worry. You and everyone you know is chain-smoking cigarettes all the time. Nobody will notice.

[-] MintyFresh@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago

The good ol days

[-] kablez@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

Cigarettes used to make me need to shit really bad. I can't even imagine combining that with the Vogue diet of a boiled egg, glass of wine and black coffee. Sounds like a recipe for a day on the toilet!

[-] dejected_warp_core@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago

I think we cracked the code. This "diet" is just bulimia with extra steps.

It was in fashion at the time. The all important question of "Do you fart with that ass?" was finally silenced for one glorious year.

I'm all for morning drinking, but pairing a dry white with boiled eggs just doesn't seem like a good match

[-] pishadoot@sh.itjust.works 21 points 1 month ago

Look at the friggin sommelier over here

[-] Akasazh@lemmy.world 13 points 1 month ago

A fatty chardonnay could do

[-] jaybone@lemmy.zip 24 points 1 month ago

Fatty Chardonnay will be your nickname at the tennis club.

[-] Akasazh@lemmy.world 11 points 1 month ago

This is why I tend to avoid tennis clubs

[-] ramble81@lemmy.zip 9 points 1 month ago

That’s okay Fatty Chardonnay.

[-] shweddy@lemmy.world 29 points 1 month ago

What's the difference between a boiled egg and a poached egg? Theyre both just the egg cooked in water one with shell and one without

[-] null@piefed.nullspace.lol 52 points 1 month ago

You burn more calories peeling the boiled egg.

[-] prole 14 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

I like how it says "if necessary." Like what possible scenario exists where it's necessary to poach an egg instead of hard boiling it lol

[-] lyrial@anarchist.nexus 6 points 1 month ago

I imagine that eating exactly the same thing for multiple days would get tiring to say the least, so at least a different preparation would be welcome. Probably not necessary in the literal sense, but in the sense that you "need" something different.

The crunch mostly.

[-] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 20 points 1 month ago

Seems perfectly reasonable to me

[-] kryptonianCodeMonkey@lemmy.world 18 points 1 month ago

Shit your guts out, the diet.

[-] f314@lemmy.world 18 points 1 month ago
[-] Eq0@literature.cafe 10 points 1 month ago

I’m trying to picture what sort of necessity is that.

Oh no! My Instagram account can’t handle another boiled egg!

[-] jaybone@lemmy.zip 8 points 1 month ago

Out of necessity for not spending the rest of my life in prison because I’m about to murder someone if I eat another goddamn hard boiled egg.

There are articles online about people trying this diet. At least one girl said it worked, but obviously the amount you lose would depend on Your starting weight and You would lose mostly water.

[-] the_riviera_kid@lemmy.world 12 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

So get drunk and get skinny?

I don't think its working, I'm still fat.

P.S.

Its just a joke folks, you can chill

[-] addie@feddit.uk 12 points 1 month ago

Lots of calories in beer. Need to move yourself over to neat spirits. Make sure that you spend all your money on them, so that you've nothing left to buy food. Then follow the diet posted above, but skip the eggs and replace the large glass of wine with a large glass of vodka. You'll lose a tonne of weight.

[-] Simon_Shitewood@lemmy.ml 8 points 1 month ago

My old boss lost a load of weight when he switched from drinking beer to white wine spritzers when he was working. Did have to then switch to fizzy water after his wife gave him an earful for coming home drunk all the time though.

This will technically do what it says on the tin but there are definitely better diets to achieve the same, haha.

And if you're anything like me, counting calories will be going out the window pretty shortly after polishing off that daily bottle.

You can substitute beer for the wine. Remember Kiddies, there is a pork chop's worth of calories in every bottle! This is why diabetics prefer beer of a real chop! ./////JKing!

This is NOT accurate dietary and medical advice!
