No background check will go that deep.

You have given your notice. You have given the traditional two-week notice. You move on.

LMAO… yeah go 100mph on a scooter.

What could possibly go wrong…..

Do not delay the start date of your new job. You have given your notice and have a new job lined up. There is no action needed. Any place worth a damn would not hold it against you won’t delay your departure.

Your current and soon to be ex-co-workers comings and goings are not your problem.

Now as far as being rehired by your current place. That will be based on how good of an employee you were and the scarcity of your skill sets.

Which superpower do you think is the most practical, versatile, and useful?

The ability to fly. You could clean your gutters, inspect your roof, get from one floor of a tall building to another.

Which do you think is the least practical and most useless?

Many offense ones, such as throwing fire, freezing things or shooting lasers out of your eyes. Never minding the potential of killing by standers outside of combat there is no day to day.

What would be a good drawback to your superpower of choice?

Hopefully you would never sleep fly….

It depends on the setting your are listening to and reading the books. I listen to audio books on my daily commute.

So if you are listening to one book for the soul sucking drive and another to relax at the end of the day..

I started listening to Stephen King’s IT.

I have read and listened a number of his books, but never IT. I am only three chapters into to it and so far It is King at the top of his game.

The reason your co-workers in the Emergency Department babble inane stuff to each other is it is a coping mechanism for all the brutal self destructive shit they see people do to themselves and to each other.

I’ve always have such issues working for other employers.

OP this is a key statement..

It’s like they believe the talkative ones over me. Why would I want to work for people like that?

OP you have had this same problem at other workplaces. You don’t feel a need to change your behavior.

Not wanting to chit chat at work is completely reasonable in some professions, IT, research, laboratory work and so on. ED Nursing is not one of those professions. Nursing is all about executing a care plan as part of a team. Your managers are not believing your co-workers over you, your managers are confirming what you already know about yourself.

If you do have a disability/special needs you need to get that documented and inform your organization so the organization can create a reasonable accommodation.

I think you need to some self evaluation and see if there is a speciality of nursing that has limited contact with people.

I know that there are doctors who spend their days doing nothing but chart reviews. Is that something a nurse can do.

How does a socially inept, introverted person survive at work?

They find a profession that a socially inept introverted person can do.

None. My folks didn’t have any rules about games. Then again my parents really didn’t do rules.

Here are more pics

A buddy and I were riding our jet skis to Chesapeake and Delaware canal.

There are a series of these towers in the water. The have lights at the top that made me think the towers are associated with an airport, I don’t know if any airport is near there.

My first thought was, it was just a cell tower, but then the fact there’s like a series of them in the line, maybe go kind-of X-Fileish about them.

I have watched the first episode of this show and I am not really sure what to say about it.

Taron Egerton and Jurnee Smollette are the leads and they both knock it out of the park. She plays a cop who is reassigned to work with Egerton who is an Arson investigator, hence the title of the show. The duo is trying too catch two arsonists who are terrorizing the city.

She clearly has some past demons and has one really fucked up relationship with her ex-boss/current boss?. I suspect that storyline will be fleshed out as the show progresses.

Egerton really shinned in the first episode and has quirks of his own, such as he is trying to write a novel and when he writes he wears fake glasses. The show works the stuff he is writing into the narration of the show.

There is a really well done and horrific sequence where a women is in a Hobby Lobby sort of store that one of the arsonists sets ablaze and it is a really intense sequence that sot of tears your heart out as it goes along.

The episode is so very “noire” but unfortunately in a “trying to hard” sort of way.

Overall the episode had enough goodness to make me want to watch more.

On a recommendation post in this instance yesterday I watched the first episode of this show last night and it was really good.

They are clearly going for a Peaky Blinders sort of experience with the time frame and the out of era music and that is ok.

The cast is led by Julianne Nicholson and she is excellent in pretty much everything she does.

I was hooked really quick with this show.

I started watching this on a whim.

The first episode was pretty much a run of the mill Brit Copganda slop but Kelly MacDonald and Kate Dickie kept me hanging on and the final sequences of E1 really hooked me.

I am two episodes into the show and it has been great. I am curious as to where it will go.

I highly recommend it, if you are looking for something to watch.
