For the record, I fully do not believe that RFK Jr. is remotely self-aware, nor is Trump for that matter. There absolutely are self-aware individuals in the administration who are as you describe, no doubt, but I do not believe those two are among them.

Besides drug approval, which is not a measurement in itself, I can attest to this. A large German pharma, has increased their head count from 7 to 40 within a year. They bought a local pharma for 1 billion US dollar and at the same time closed a US facility. The same goes for many other pharmas. You can say what you want about China, but they are investing heavily in science. Because they believe in science. Unlike the current regime of the US.
I still don't really trust China, it's more reliable than the US regime (minus Democratic areas) rn, but still, that's a low bar.

God I hope China actually does create a virus to wipe out the antivax dumbasses.
I think covid might have put a pin in anyone planning to try to take the world using a virus. Two main problems:
- Once the virus is out in the wild, it is out of anyone's control. It will evolve in whatever direction it will. Maybe it will escape the vaccines developed to keep their side alive. Maybe it will just become less deadly before it kills off enough people to collapse the enemy's base.
- It looks like our immune systems are pretty good actually and those who get sick might just be the tip of the iceberg while most of the population gets immunity from asymptomatic infection.
These two items work against each other. If you try to make a virus that will infect the entire herd, it might be more likely to also be able to attack you regardless of what vaccines you have. If you try to make a virus that won't be able to escape your vaccine's immunity, then the herd might just develop immunity themselves and the virus dies out after only killing a small portion of the population.
So given that, I don't think a weaponized virus is an effective tool to eliminate enemies with because it's both too risky and too unreliable.

Drug research and development takes decades until final approval. If there is a decrease in the US (or an increase in China), you need to look for cuts (or additional investments) in the early 2000s.
The damage this idiot has done will not be visible for quite some time...
Again though, he cut programs that were in motion so as far as we know stuff could have been decently close and is gone now. Also important is the fact that he’s literally a guy who constantly talks and act like prescription drugs are evil and yet is using China having more of them as a good thing for them and a bad thing for his country.

The post above this in my feed is about how he rejects germ theory, so why the hell does he care about pharmaceutical drugs? If all diseases are caused by diet and "imbalances" why would we need any drugs?
