The AI rot has set itself so deep in certain people that they don't even approach things with skepticism, they already decide it's AI at first glance

to anyone who cares: i think dis is not a gen image, despite the 1x1 aspect ratio.

Thos "kane pixels" guy is well known for makin his animated 3D vids of "the backrooms" (his r the ones which blew up), so im umsure if he would post a gen image.

hes gud at capturing that real lookin tape recorded style, so im sure dis one is a blendr rendr ~

EDIT: turns out peeps already said that- ooooh well--------- iguess i jus leave dis comment to take up space...

OOOOORRRRRR!!! i instead try puttin somthin else here!... hmm-

my stinking, that tough skin, the unending hair-growth-
all those things bother me all-day ~ ~

the thinking, the yapping, understanding - checking
distracting away from the p-in

the shoulders, that throat ball, complaining: that is all
my posture, my height and my voice -

those things i cant change a-ny-more - "i am brave"
i am told as if it were a choice ~

(cool mexican-sounding instrumental starts here)

no amount of saying "my thoughts, they are slaying!" must change the actions that i take -

all things: they are made up! no money, no make-up- they all must not matter to me (oh nu thad last one didn rhyme >o< )

so why try to work with what i have been gi-ven, if it is all just for performance?

no feeling, no thought and no-thing must be real, as long as i myself am convinced-

put dis ovr yakkos world or whatevr-

Dead internet theory

I know it's AI, but it's "not quite right" nature gives it a creepy liminal vibe. They feel like a dream from a collective unconscious of all the training data we fed it.

Kane Pixels has been making this sort of art since before AI tools were popularized. He specializes in liminal horror so the uncanny valley feeling is very intentional.

Didn't he literally get signed with A24 to do a Backrooms feature film after all his YouTube short films?

good to know

[-] Fedi-bitch@piefed.blahaj.zone 25 points 1 day ago

I'm not 100% if it's AI. it is definitely CG. This is the account of the guy who made a whole Backrooms series a while back.

[-] TotallynotJessica 9 points 1 day ago

Interesting. Well it certainly gives off that AI vibe, like a room generated out of the Windows XP default wallpaper.

[-] SnotFlickerman 7 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

He has a whole series on YouTube based on "The Backrooms" horror meme.

They are quite good, imho.

Others are worried that the source of the work is an AI but I am worried it reminds me of a certain Source work with an AI!

[-] kittenzrulz123 8 points 1 day ago

Im not sure if its AI but it makes me feel deeply uncomfortable

[-] Fedi-bitch@piefed.blahaj.zone 9 points 1 day ago

That definitely sounds like the Backrooms

Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.
