What about them Epstein files?

[-] ProfThadBach@lemmy.world 44 points 11 months ago

Yeah I want to out too but we are way past the point of those things mattering at all. This is s prelude to civil war. Oath Keepers will join up with the regular military and those fuckers will just start shooting because there will be no consequences for them. The blue states need to activate their NG now and have them ready.

[-] forrgott@lemmy.zip 23 points 11 months ago

The Epstein files are the distraction. Not the other way around.

Like, seriously.

[-] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 5 points 11 months ago

Are you daft?

He raped kids. That resonates with... Jesus Christ... SO many people.

Of all the worst people I've met, they all fuckin cared about kids.

[-] forrgott@lemmy.zip 6 points 11 months ago

So, what's your point?

For starters, I don't care what you or anyone else does or says, those files are never gonna see the light of day. Wishing differently is idiocy.

However, let's go ahead and pretend differently. The files get released. What consequences will he face? He started issuing blatancy unconstitutional orders on his very first day in office, yet the military has followed his orders anyway. It doesn't matter how many citizens try to fight back - the military has far more advanced, not to mention absolutely brutal weaponry available.

But go ahead, focus your energy on something that will never happen, and would do absolutely nothing to stop those fascist bastards even if it did. Cause your dumb fucking fantasy is obviously more important than staying informed on the actual shit going on around you.

And I'm daft? What the fuck ever.

We knew all of this TEN FUCKING YEARS AGO. Did it resonate with his base then? No?

You need to start paying attention to other news, because fascists have taken over our country

those are only 'scary' if you're listed in them.

[-] Redditsux@lemmy.world 43 points 11 months ago

Monday's order calls for the creation of "an online portal for Americans with law enforcement or other relevant backgrounds and experience." Agency heads then "shall each deputize the members of this unit to enforce federal law."

This is scary.

[-] Sanctus@lemmy.world 42 points 11 months ago

Doesn't this mean we can just dress like Proud Boys and Trump's Gestapo and no one would be the wiser? Get behind the front lines, people.

Beginning of the article:

An executive order signed Monday by US President Donald Trump may permit "random fascist vigilantes" to help him crack down on protests across the country, according to one prominent civil rights lawyer. The new order, which comes amid wider concern about Trump's militarized takeover of Washington, DC, directs Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth to ensure that each state's National Guard is equipped to "assist Federal, State, and local law enforcement in quelling civil disturbances and ensuring the public safety.”

Didn't see this in the news at all...

[-] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 21 points 11 months ago

So, basically a way to form government-backed lynch mobs.

[-] quick_snail@feddit.nl 1 points 11 months ago

I'm blind and can't read this.

[-] LaunchesKayaks@lemmy.world 4 points 11 months ago

Top says: Sandy says ...

Bottom says: where are the Epstein files

[-] ayyy@sh.itjust.works 2 points 11 months ago

I’m a sighted person and I still can’t read it. Drop shadows, people!

Literal Goon squads.

Fascist Goons are not human and deserve no such rights or sympathy, and by my judgment, will never be afforded any.

Wanna find out what real, red blooded Americans think? Join a fascist goonsquad today and cover your face. Find out what it's like to be the nobody faceless bad guys in a movie, and discover your true identity and value of being a worthless tool of evil.

GoonSquads, because you don't matter.

[-] quick_snail@feddit.nl 8 points 11 months ago

Spoiler: The National Guard is who kills the fascist dictator at the end of this conflict.

I don't see a problem with having more State military surrounding the White House. If they do their job, Trump will be dead soon

[-] Formfiller@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

That’s optimistic

[-] prole 8 points 11 months ago

Brown shirts

[-] Soup@lemmy.world 4 points 11 months ago

Hey, at least the article didn’t seem to act like this is “a sign of the start of the descent into fascism”. That’s a big improvement over most of the articles we’re seeing acting like the US isn’t fully locked in to a fascist dictatorship already.

[-] leadore@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

Gettin' his personal army of brownshirts all legitimized and stuff so they can mow down any protesters and disappear any 'troublemakers'.
