Cory Booker at the moment filibustering at the senate as a protest against the whole trump administration . He is speaking for as long as he is physically able too, as stated by him in the CSPAN clip, https://www.c-span.org/clip/us-senate/sen-cory-booker-d-nj-starts-speaking-in-senate-for-as-long-as-i-am-physically-able/5158775

Here is an article that states why he is on the senate floor if you need clarification https://www.cnn.com/2025/03/31/politics/booker-senate-floor-speech-trump-protest/index.html

No distractions, the second answer is not correct, he wants another glided age. The glided age is another term for the second industrial revolution that turned america into the superpower we know today, but It also was an awful era for your average american. They would work 12 hours or more for a whole week, some may have sunday off due to church but a lot did work that day with all your family working. The standard of living was so crap, many would become alcoholics due to the awful conditions, which would lead to prohibition movement. Your average american did not live long, many people would die due to work place accidents but due to no worker protection, nothing would change.

The era was also known for the monopolies, starting with rockfeller standard oil, carnegie steel company and morgans banking with many others. All the major monopolies worked together to prevent competition by buying out, they would ask nicely to sell your company to them, if not they would play the waiting game by lowering the product your selling to be unprofitable and then buy you out. Regulations did not exist yet so, this was all legal and if it wasn't, no one gave a shit as they were that powerful. The government was no help to them either, as most of them were bathing in the money of the 1%. The 1% lived in amazing conditions, and hoarded a ton of money, with some becoming important philanthropist.

Here is an article of proof of what trump wants, https://apnews.com/article/trump-tariffs-gilded-age-mckinley-grover-cleveland-1592dab80ad7159266db51b5baa774b6.

I hope the state supreme court allows them to keep their right to a jury trial. It clearly states in our 7th amendment it is preserved for any case above $20 and that it will always be upheld. There is no alternative in the wording, it is so clearly written and if it is ignored I want to see all the judges bank account and donations because the constitution for jury trials are clearly written and cannot be told in any other way.

Sugar is the reason for the rise of heart disease that was happening in US. John Yudkin was the one to purpose that sugar was dangerous for our bodies and heart plus responsible for obesity but he couldn't prove it and was criticized by his scientist who were paid by the sugar industry. I forget to state the sugar industry was funding scientist to blame it all on fat. It was a pseudoscience till the 70s and 80s when they found the correlation that Yudkin was missing.

You can request your trial to be done by mail, yes this is legal and if you truly want to get out of a speeding ticket or any other tickets or fine. Just do it the trial by mail and always postpone it for a greater chance of the officer just letting you win it. The source for all my information is from a lawyer, also check your local laws or state laws about this, thank you maggoty as it depends.

Nah, it's not that it's that one asshole who decided to write an article about how "Vaccines cause autism." That's how the whole anti-vaxxer movement came to be.

This article must be a joke, no one is literally that dumb. Like Venus surface is basically hell, just some really small miscalucation and bam your dead, body will just burn to nothing. The crash site may exist or not, but it's extremely stupid.

No idea why it was curbed, the item worked perfectly, the rubber was melting but nothing like alcohol to remove the entire layer

Man, that must be hell, it's literally death valley temperature since they were the same temperature this week. Kinda ironic how death valley name was because the dudes who were stuck finally left saying "goodbye death valley", and in the future it'll literally become death.

So moderators/admins, I am the founder and moderator of c/politics. For context, I hired a moderator who I will not name, but he is controversial with users for his views and demand he be remove. I ignored them and continued with my day, then later I received this message from him.

Is he impersonating an admin to try to get us to remove the user as I don't see an admin on his name and his account was created 7 days ago. Just asking if you guys heard of him.

Thanks, yeah just an impersonator trying to get me to remove an important mod.

Let's welcome the new moderators of c/politics.

Oh boy, look at clarence with his "buisiness trips." This is should be a huge violation of the courts. Oh wait, you can't do anything as republicans love it while democrats are literally begging for some ethics violation. Man fuck the supreme court.

This was long overdue, and I should have made it per day when the supreme court did these cases. But oh well, it's all under one megathread. This will be active for a couple of days.
