Lol I love to see the conservatives seethe.

Can you imagine the reaction if a AfD German or RN French saw this when they withdraw money. 🤣

I hate how much of this community is obsessed with kids, mostly girls, in school uniform kissing and/or being otherwise presented sexual, like with massive breasts and whatnot.

I get that it's an anime thing and same sex couples are lgbt positive and this isn't my issues, my issue is the kids in school uniform in every other post practically. Aren't most of the users here like 30+?

[-] blockheadjt@sh.itjust.works 15 points 4 hours ago

The girls in the OP post aren't being sexual or have giant breasts though...

[-] Tired@slrpnk.net 5 points 3 hours ago

This community goes nuts over girls in school uniform kissing and being presented sexually.

Unless you are a teenager yourself, it is really weird to be so obsessed with memes of school girls kissing and/or looking sexual.

And the comments on these posts are always talking about how hot or attractive these school girls are and how much you all either want to be them or be with them.

Do you not think this is concerning behaviour for adults to be participating in?

[-] blockheadjt@sh.itjust.works 9 points 2 hours ago

If you are worried about the dangers of sexual deviance, I think a drawing of kissing girls on the internet should rank pretty lowly on the priority list.

Can't you think of a real-world example of sexual deviance that is even more egregious, damaging and influential? Maybe focus your outrage there.

[-] Tired@slrpnk.net 1 points 19 minutes ago

Lmao, look at this pedo is telling me to go be concerned elsewhere because a community based around sexualised drawings of school girls is apparently just a harmless internet fad.

I'm going though, I don't want to be associated with this rot or to see it on my feed when scrolling.

[-] RaivoKulli@sopuli.xyz 6 points 2 hours ago

I think they're hinting that the girls are or look underage

[-] RaivoKulli@sopuli.xyz 4 points 3 hours ago

I'd count kissing as being sexual

[-] jbk@discuss.tchncs.de 7 points 3 hours ago

So you wanna ban kissing in public since its sexual?

[-] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 4 points 1 hour ago

anything above a class four hand hold

[-] RaivoKulli@sopuli.xyz 10 points 3 hours ago

I didn't say anything about banning anything though??

[-] jbk@discuss.tchncs.de 6 points 2 hours ago

You said it's sexual. Aren't most sexual things banned in public?

[-] RaivoKulli@sopuli.xyz 4 points 2 hours ago

Not sure why you'd think that would mean I wanted to ban those, but kissing isn't banned in public in most places. So some are banned others aren't.

[-] GratefullyGodless@lemmy.world 3 points 3 hours ago

Plenty of parents kiss their children to show that they love them. There are other cultures where a kiss is considered a sign of respect or a friendly greeting.

My question to you is would you still consider it sexual if it were a boy in a school uniform giving one of those girls a kiss? Because i think we know what your real objection is.

[-] RaivoKulli@sopuli.xyz 8 points 3 hours ago* (last edited 3 hours ago)

Not all kisses are sexual in nature. The picture kiss definitely is.

My question to you is would you still consider it sexual if it were a boy in a school uniform giving one of those girls a kiss? Because i think we know what your real objection is.

I'm thoroughly confused by this. Of course it would be sexual, what else would be if depicted this way? What are you even suggesting here..?

Also, what objection??

[-] BigDiction@lemmy.world 6 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago)

Yeah I blocked all the hentei communities but there’s no “Lady Sybil” Downton Abbey fan art communities to replace them.

[-] irelephant@lemmy.dbzer0.com 17 points 6 hours ago

Those are only the users who admitted their age.

Also, I think 196's demographics are different to lemmy's as a whole.

[-] Tired@slrpnk.net 5 points 6 hours ago

Fair enough, so this meme trope is for and used by queer teenagers here? 196 was just slightly spicier memes on reddit, from what I recall, but it's been a few years.

Idk, maybe it's just because I'm a 30+ adult that I'm assuming everyone else here is too, and that's why I'm so weirded out by this. Because this is a really weird and gross trope for actual adults to be so into.

I'm really hoping you all are teenagers here.

[-] Hoimo@ani.social 1 points 4 minutes ago

I'm 30+ and I like Sakura Trick and there's nothing wrong with that. (Also, this post is about the absurdity of yuri on paper money and not at all about the sexual arousal you personally feel when you see two girls kissing, so maybe don't self-report next time.)

[-] Trihilis@ani.social 19 points 7 hours ago

I guess anime would be more something for a Japanese banknote. But we can have two women kissing also in other art styles.

[-] GratefullyGodless@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago

This was my thought as well. There are plenty of European illustrators, why not use one of them for the Euro, and leave the anime for Japan.

[-] ordnance_qf_17_pounder@reddthat.com 32 points 10 hours ago

Now I can masturbate to bank notes!

I'm still waiting for that universal healthcare. didn't most European health systems stop mandating masks?

Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.
