It's not a matter of money, it's a matter of available time.
The Lemmy instance is sharing hardware at the moment, and we need to move it to a dedicated server.
We're aiming to do that today.

Woohoo! 🎉
Thank you so much for all your work Ada! This is becoming my favorite space online since I left reddit and unfortunately it's trans communities with it. I am excited about the possibilities for this as a just as vibrant, but kinder place than subreddits can be.
I agree! This place feels so much more tightly knit than any other reddit community I've ever been in! It reminds me of when I used to beta test games and interact with the tiny communities, I love it!
This is awesome news! Thanks so much for your work overseeing the instance, I'm excited for things to come!
Ty Ada!
Adaa❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for all the work you folks are doing!
102K users online for the main page, 15k just on 196. The other main instances report similar numbers. 30 days ago, this server had less than 100. So yeah.
Unfortunately scaling infrastructure isn't just a matter of throwing money at the problem, though I'm sure money can help!
Again, wish there was more that I could do personally!
It's not just you.
And the lovely server admins have said they're thinking about accepting donations, but so far are happy to absorb the cost for the time being. :)
That's wonderfully generous of them.
However, through this instance, the site is practically unusable at times. I want to see the community grow! The constant errors are frustrating, so I hope it doesn't detract anyone. I just wish there was more I could do. </3
I too hope they accept donations soon. I want to sub to Blahaj Gold! (/joke - I don't want a them-and-us scenario)
Ha, as I was trying to read this comment I got a whole new error!
404: TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'comment')
I hope Blahaj and in turn Lemmy will keep up, and I don't think they necessarily need donations if they are certain of holding the costs, but we certainly need a server upgrade!
Blahaj Gold... I can only imagine.
It looks like there are some issues going on today, the performance on the past few days has been good.
And it looks like it is not only the Lemmy instance that is having trouble.
I second your donation point. Happy to support this instance.
