huh, that's a pretty big claim (that it gets the same results, just takes longer). The costs for laser treatments are a whole order of magnitude greater, I would imagine if at-home devices were effective the economics would cause most people (esp. trans people who typically have less money than the average person) to use them and have them recommended - so my assumption has always been that they can't be that effective.
either way, I'm happy to be wrong and excited to hear how it goes!
EDIT: here are some of the things I see being said:
I think this just confirms my impression that IPL results are not likely to justify the cost, unfortunately.
I don't really know if it will work either, that's why I'm testing before I recommend it lol. At the very least the refund policy of the corporation I bought from is very generous, so hopefully I'll just be out some time if it fails.
I bought an IPL device originally for my legs because I was shaving them every other day and it was great for that. Now I only need to shave my legs once a weak at most, and even at that point my legs are still smooth.
I have had mixed results in my face so far. Using it once a week like the manufacturer recommends does nothing whatsoever. Now that I have started using it after each shave, the hair between my chin and my adams apple has thinned or disappeared in a few patches. My chin, my upper lip, and my cheeks have seen no improvement so far. Although it could be that I just haven't hit the right growth cycle yet, since I have only changed my routine 2-3 weeks ago.
yeah, that's my main concern, that you didn't have money for laser or electrolysis and put what you had in IPL instead; hopefully you can get your money back🤞
