I really, honestly cannot see Republicans listening to their constituents. By all means, it'd be great if we could get Republicans receiving all the same calls the Dems have been getting, but I think the Republicans will tell anyone who calls to pound sand. They're in the endgame now, why would they listen to the peasantry?
I think a unified UBI is a lot more efficient than segmenting aid between housing assistance, bill assistance, and food stamps, and I think if somebody really wants to waste their small monthly UBI stipend on drugs and booze, they should be allowed to. It'll be a pretty small fraction of a percentage of the program participants that would do such a thing, and in a morbid sense it's a problem that sorts itself out.
People really just don't understand how fucked the U.S education system is. The idiots all had kids, and some of those kids became teachers, who continue to pass down their culture of ignorance. Meanwhile, teaching is such a dogshit job that nobody in the U.S. wants to do it, so hiring standards have gotten lower and lower.
It's like a perfect storm taking us to a situation where people at a 7th grade reading level are teaching U.S. History to 10th graders.
Yeah unfortunately it seems like EA is still operating under the directive of "We want the Call of Duty/Fortnite audience," and DA:V is a game made to appeal to that audience. I'll never understand why they spend so much time and money to acquire incredible studios like Bioware and Visceral just to tell them "Actually those incredibly good games you made were stupid, you should make games like this."
It never effects executives or managers though. The whole problem with the current Western games industry is that the idiots who keep thinking up games nobody wants to play are the only ones who don't get fired when their idea flops.
Have you played much of the rest of the series? DA:V is a perfectly adequate game with incredibly lukewarm themes in a series of pretty good games with dark and interesting themes. I think a lot of people, myself included, were hoping that after the success of Baldur's Gate 3, EA would turn to the studio that made Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 and say "I want that, make me a game like that." Instead, we got a serviceable fantasy RPG. Fine if you really like that kinda thing, but I've only so much time for those games, and it's much better spent on Avowed and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
I smoke a lot of pot. Probably the strangest part is how...I still have to live? I still have to go into work tomorrow, I've still got bills to pay. People just go about their day like nothing is happening. You sit in the office and joke about the ongoing hostile government takeover. Meanwhile, federal employees are getting fucked, trans people are getting erased, they're building fuckin camps down in Guantanamo, people are fuckin starving outside shuttered USAID depots, and I still got work tomorrow. It's like I'm just sitting here waiting for somebody to put a gun in my hands and tell me "the revolution starts now." My local organizations are very focused on making sure people survive right now, which is a very good and noble focus to have, but I haven't really heard of anyone planning something serious to fight back.
This kinda shit is going to be what ultimately collapses the United States. Once funding starts getting withheld to blue states, they're going to start wondering why they're paying the feds so much money.
Their plan is to do nothing, then. They could have been forcing Republicans to vote against popular things for decades now, including during the entire Trump presidency. Without even going into how ineffective this kinda performative bullshit is, why should I expect them to seriously start calling for these votes now?
Here's the wildest part, I prefer women.
I think it's just because my last long-time partner was a man, so a lot of my current friend-group has only ever known me in a homosexual relationship. Also, a lot of my friends are gay, so it's easier to be "one of the gays." Gonna be real weird to be called gay when I'm in a technically het relationship.
Yes, and we knew this would be the outcome the second he won the election. I'm staying in the U.S. because my life is worthless anyway and I'd prefer death in glorious revolution than survival, but anyone who values their life should have started their plans to leave in August 2024 when it became obvious he was going to sieze control.
An-caps. They're not really anarchists in any legitimate sense of the word, but they have very good branding people. Very big in certain parts of the U.S., lotta Sov-Cits and Libertarians that fall under the umbrella supporting Trump.
