They're fascists; making those things not forthcoming is like their whole schtick. Small arms won't defeat them in battle, but guns can make occupation almost infinitely more costly for fascists to maintain compared to willful docility

If by undesirable you mean I desire instead to keep living, and by conserve my way of living you mean I just get to continue breathing - then yes.
