i will not say that Steam has a lot of pro-consumer functionality. but in this particular case, the thing that sony is being critizied for is something Valve has already done, 20 years ago

This meme is a pet peeve because sony is doing exactly the same thing that valve did when they released steam, of going digital-only and tying game ownership to digital accounts.

i don't think this is true.

the sin of gluttony come from the logismoi of gastrimargia, which means "madness of the stomache" and it always was about wasteful consumption of food.

the hording wealth and resources is also a sin, but the very specfic "greed"

"We are working on a technology that will accelerate climate change while hopefully making most of the population unemployed in a world where unemployment means you barely get the basic necessities of life, if even that! What? Why are you all booing?

15% of the total United States GDP is a single company

no, it is not. you struggle to comprehend it because it is not true.

it is comparing different things. one is a valuation, the other is the value of goods and services over a year. the comparision would be with yearly revenue of a company

"Democrats will be doing a disservice [...] if they don't come together and decide to support whichever candidate has the most support among them"...

what do you think a primary election is? it is literally seeing who has the most support among democrats. so this guy is the one who is doing the disservice of not deciding to support Zohran

"regulations are written in blood" is a quote for a reason

Idiocracy was too optimistic. it supposes that when people are having problems they will realize, realize they can't fix it, and try to find someone who knows more than them to fix them

It’s also funny because It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is still airing too, and that is massively more edgy than anything seinfeld ever did.

I think that the problem is that jerry want to be edgy and still be considered the good guy. Which is not how Curb, IASIP or even the Seinfeld tv show ever was. They always were presented as bad/flawed people doing bad stuff. You 100% can still do that type of comedy. But you can’t do comedy where the characters are supposed to be good but do bad stuff

Map of Ava-Lodise (lemmy.world)

Hi! This is the map for the island country of Ava-Lodise. It is a modern country, with similar levels of technology to our world. The largest cities are Avalí (the capital), Suhr, Senadi and Hirrea. There are several different ethnic groups in the country, from Avalonian (from Ava, the smaller island where Avalí is), East Lodisean (the east coast of the large island), Flahrian (south west of Lodise), Veeker (west of the desert) and Senmi (north of the desert).

I made it for a project that I am really proud of how it looks, but I can't share it here because for that one I used a lot of AI generated images: A Travel Guide to Ava-Lodise.

here is one example page of that project (i removed the AI-generated images):
