Sometimes I like to find top headlines from other countries.

Like damn, your country's biggest news today is that you're replacing outdated lights with eco-friendly alternatives?

Must be nice.

Applebee's at 2AM which leaves a physical trail? Noob. I strap meshtastic nodes on wild dogs, using them as a Internet relay at 1-2kb a second, to look at manga leaks.

A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement worker was among 16 men arrested in a Minnesota trafficking investigation that targeted individuals seemingly attempting to solicit a minor for sex, police said.

Bloomington Police Chief Booker Hodges said at a news conference on Tuesday that the three-day "Operation Creep" began on November 5 and focused on identifying people seeking to purchase sex from a 17-year-old girl.

"When he was arrested, he said, 'I'm ICE, boys,'" Hodges said. "Well, unfortunately for him, we locked him up." Alexander Back, 41, of Robbinsdale, is a civilian auditor with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and has been charged in the sting, Fox 9 reported. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

She shared a series of infographics on what Musk could do to help global causes with his enormous wealth, such as ending world hunger, saving endangered species and rebuilding Gaza.

After posting the stats, Eillish called Musk a “fucking pathetic pussy bitch coward”. Today (Tuesday November 18), the X/Twitter chairman took to the social media platform to respond to screenshots of the singer’s posts.

OVER THE PAST FEW MONTHS, the United States has embarked on a controversial maritime campaign in the Caribbean Sea and Eastern Pacific targeting small Venezuelan and Colombian vessels alleged to be engaged in drug smuggling. Under an asserted “narcoterrorist” deterrence operation, the United States has thus far carried out nineteen lethal strikes on small boats in international waters, killing at least seventy-six people, all undertaken without the transparency, oversight, or legal foundation that normally governs the use of American force.

...

To begin with, Venezuela is not small, not simple, and not susceptible to quick, low-cost military outcomes. In geographic and demographic terms alone, Venezuela is enormous. It covers roughly 882,000 square kilometers, making it substantially larger than Ukraine (579,000 sq km) or Texas (696,000 sq km). Its population—estimated to be above 31 million people—is roughly equivalent to current wartime Ukraine and modern Texas. It is a country of sprawling mountains, dense cities, jungles, and industrial corridors where military infrastructure sits interlaced with civilian life. Caracas, Maracaibo, Valencia, and other urban centers are not “surgical strike zones”—they are vast megacities where any attempt to dismantle regime capabilities from the air risks substantial civilian casualties and cascading regional effects.

I used to think that religious Trump supporters were also the ones who believe in funding a pastor's private jets. But my take: a lot of religious MAGA just want someone to validate whatever racist stupid ass thoughts come to their mind. May it be politician, pastor or a fucking podcaster.

Religion is just another mechanism.

As he and a teammate walked back toward the field from inside the tunnel, a Texas state trooper appeared to walk between the pair, bumping shoulders with both, and then turned around and pointed at them — shouting at them in the process.

In a statement to The Athletic, the Texas Department of Public Safety said, “The DPS Trooper involved has been sent home from the game. DPS’ Office of Inspector General (OIG) is also aware of the incident and will be further looking into the matter.”

The scene was caught by college football fans across social media, sparking outrage in even The King himself, as LeBron James posted about the incident on X.

Barco enlisted in the army at 17 and served two tours in Iraq. Barco was injured by an improvised explosive device during one of his deployments, and received a Purple Heart for his service in combat. He was also awarded a Combat Infantry Badge. During his military career, Barco had filled out paperwork for citizenship, but his application was never processed for an unknown reason, despite his submitting it. His legal team says his former commander attests to helping him complete and submit the application.

Barco, 39, served 15 years in prison for a felony conviction of attempted murder. In October 2009, Barco was sentenced to 52 years after being convicted of firing a gun at a house party in Colorado Springs. He was suffering from PTSD. One of the bullets he fired hit a 19-year-old woman in the leg. Barco was released on parole this January after serving 15 years due to good behavior. Upon release, Immigrations and Customs Enforcement detained Barco and took him to a detention center in Colorado.

This is incredible.

They went from angrily demanding we protect the kids, to pinning Epstein with Clinton, to defending Epstein.

The Google search data blew up about that topic.

It's a right-wing group by Nick Fuentes. A combination of edge lord shit and believing the the right isn't pushing even harder.

They loved Trump until they didn't. And honestly, it's kind of ironic watching Frankestein's monster go wild.

Hey pal, maybe you're feeling discouraged like nothing is happening.

In foreign countries with tight censorship laws, posting on social media your activities is how you get caught. Especially on a platform like Lemmy, which is both federated so any Tom, Dick, or Johnny Copman can be watching and tracking.

The news is also limp dick to report it. Because they've always been. Look what happened when they political theater Luigi? They dont want copycats. Did you know there's been more and not even being talked about?

So does it exist? Oh absolutely. You don't bring your phone to a protest for safety. So just because you aren't seeing it on the internet doesn't mean there isn't defiance, protests, and good people stepping up.

If you want to see people doing something, get off the internet and see where it's happening. I guarantee you you'll find what you're looking for.

Just don't be a narc and pull out your phone and get people arrested.

Unfortunately, a lot of wrestlers are Republicans. When the bosses are also MAGA, it's a pretty toxic environment.

Went to Vegas recently. I went there in 2005, then in 2012. So can't say my brain remembered a lot of it.

Yeah it was as quiet as the video at the casinos I was in.

In the shopping areas, it was significantly busier. But not in the casino floor.

Again, I didn't think anything about it as I dont have context if this is supposed to be packed or not.

What I do know is I paid $22 for nachos for my buddy and I. We had to throw half of it away because the portions were like for five people. Later we went to get a beer at a bar, and it was $14. I also had to carshare everywhere because it's not a walking city.
