Iran has recently been reported as failing to meet its nuclear non-proliferation obligations and this is undoubtedly the reason Israel describes these strikes as pre-emptive.
I wonder why they would want nuclear weapons. It might be because people keep bombing them.
They started the program on the first government change after Bush announced the US would invade them...
Maybe taco shouldn't have backed out of that deal last time he was president.
For the sake of peace and the wellbeing of all the people living in that part of the world, I desperately hope that Iran is much closer to developing a nuclear weapon than the world knows. Israel is an unspeakably evil, and relentlessly provocative entity that is as deserving of dismantling as any of the notorious fascist monsters we typically call out in history. A nuclear capability will at least provide some kind of meaningful check against the violent tendencies of the US and its vicious client state.
I wouldn't want this Iranian government to have nukes though
Genuinely why? They're one of the least aggressive governments in the region, and not for lack of military resources.

I hate that there are no good guys in this conflict.
That being said, I also hate to agree with Israel atm because Iran having nuclear weapons is a world ending scenario. Let me remind people that it's one of the few theocratic countries that still exist which is dominated by religion that has "death to all but us" enshrined as the "word of god".
Neither Sunni Muslims nor Shia Muslims want that. This is genocidal hate speech against Muslims.

Less so than Israel having nuclear weapons but here we are.
While I have no sympathy for religious dictatorship of Iran, it is Israel who are invading and bombing their neighbours as well as commiting genocide of Palestinians.
