"IT people" here, operations guy who keeps the lights on for that software.

It's been my experience developers have no idea how the hardware works, but STRONGLY believe they know more then me.

Devops is also usually more dev than ops, and it shows in the availability numbers.

There will be political violence no matter what the election outcome. If he wins it will be post inauguration. If he loses it will be to try and take power.

There has already been too much political violence this election cycle with two assassination attempts.

Until Trump and his MAGA party are put in their place, either by rule of law or the impact of that violence, we will have violence.

Why would we move on from his admitting to what we all know, his goal is the end of our Republic.

What the hell are you talking about, we should NOT move on, that's been the problem all along.

What a load of crap.

One party admits global warming exists and is attempting to deal with it, highly ineffectually. The other advocates for accelerating our extinction.

One party advocates for personal freedoms, ineffectually. The other thinks The Handmaid's Tail is a good idea

One party is trying to help elevate the pain of student loan debt. The other likes having a middle class in chains.

You are cherry picking your pet issues as if it's a holistic view and it's horse shit.

One party, as ineffective as they are, is hands down better then the other.

Everything you complained about Biden doing will be massively accelerated by Trump.

Competition is great, a company that can't produce a quality product and ships a CAR with beta level software that can't update OTA is NOT competition.

The auto industry is highly unfavorable to startups, the competition you want will come from the old ICE OEMs.

Uhm, doofus, nobody's gonna fight in ww3.

Bombs get launched and we ALL die, that's how ww3 is faught.

It's frightening how little the younger generations understand about nuclear war.

Yes, except the Israeli government are the ones creating ghettos, actively stealing land and ethnic cleansing.

Neither Hamas or the state of Israel are good, or right, but one of these two has put way more points on the board over the last half century, and it ain't Hamas.

Hamas is the result of Isreal's brutality, not the cause.

All Apple products are designed for people who don't use technology.

They hide the useful bits so people don't hurt themselves.

It's the Duplo of computing.

I mean, this sorta bolsters the idea that livable space is rare and valuable.

Of all of the universe Earth is the only place capable of supporting human life. Furthermore no human has ever managed to leave the earth/moon system, because of the extreme effort and risk required to do so.

So... How does this make rent seem silly?

[-] RupeThereItIs@lemmy.world 46 points 1 year ago

If you're keeping score isreal has for sure put more points on the board.

But Hamas does suck as much as the Israeli government, yes.

The biggest victims here? The Palestinians.

You'd still have to work for your living in said scenario.

Nobody is gonna bring you chicken tendies three times a day in your hidden cottage.

Uncontacted hunter gathered tribes work, it's right there in the description. Not 40 hours a week, sure, but you can live a much simpler lifestyle in the wilderness on a similar work ethic.

Labor is an intrinsic requirement of human life.
