Best i can do is scream like Phoebe Bridgers outside the party and hope for the best.

I think it could have been better, at least for this song. Kristen Stewart directed The Film including 3 of the songs.

If you watch the whole thing perhaps there is some continuity. It has some very cute moments.

wtf how did I not know boygenius was Phoebe bridgers OR Julian baker??

[-] Bryllyg@piefed.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 week ago

And Lucy Dacus toooo! 🥰

[-] EggInDisguise 26 points 1 week ago

If I bring my enby spouse, can we just call it even?

[-] morto@piefed.social 12 points 1 week ago

But here's the catch: the shady advertisement didn't mention how much they are going to pay you.

[-] N0tTr0xy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 23 points 1 week ago

Do I get a discount if I buy multiple girls?

[-] Axolotl_cpp@feddit.it 21 points 1 week ago

What happens to genderfluid people?

[-] aketawi@quokk.au 46 points 1 week ago

what do you think the pool is made of

Do NOT swim in the liquid space-cop!

[-] FilthyShrooms@lemmy.world 18 points 1 week ago

Liquidation

[-] TotallynotJessica 9 points 1 week ago

They can go with whatever financially benefits them the most

[-] Axolotl_cpp@feddit.it 5 points 1 week ago

Conveniemt huh

[-] Slein4273@feddit.org 18 points 1 week ago

I think i need someone to explain me the joke, please

[-] FreddiesLantern@leminal.space 59 points 1 week ago

I think the joke is that traditionally (or heteronormatively speaking) women get in for free and men have to pay. "Because women attract men. Not so much visa versa." (That's the college fratboy logic, not mine tbc).

Non binaries don't even enter that conversation.

In this post the priorities are reversed.

[-] sem@piefed.blahaj.zone 18 points 1 week ago

Is this why there is nobody at the party in the picture though? 🤔

[-] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 9 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

It's advertising the party... I mean, it's obviously a joke (probably) but the conceit is that it's an advertisement ahead of time.

[-] gegil@sopuli.xyz 16 points 1 week ago

So my genderfluidity is enby today

[-] PhoenixDog@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago

Twenty dollars... But I wanted a peanut...

[-] binary45 7 points 1 week ago

Twenty dollars can buy many peanuts.

[-] PhoenixDog@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago
[-] binary45 9 points 1 week ago

Money can be exchanged for goods and services.

[-] PhoenixDog@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago
[-] atopi@piefed.blahaj.zone 11 points 1 week ago

But people keep saying that "guys" is gender neutral

[-] Assassassin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 week ago

✨context✨

[-] uriel238 10 points 1 week ago

I'm enby but probably ace, so not very exciting for a pool party.

[-] TotallynotJessica 10 points 1 week ago

That's probably preferable for this party tbh

[-] Polisheocket@lemmy.zip 5 points 1 week ago

For once the guys get a break on entrance fees

[-] N0tTr0xy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 week ago

How does that matter for a pool party?

[-] uriel238 2 points 6 days ago

A party with gender balancing rules is generally a singles mixer.

[-] Assassassin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 week ago

Ace people can still get drunk and do sick cannonballs???

[-] Secret_Music@piefed.blahaj.zone 10 points 1 week ago

I'll take my payment and pay for one of the girls to get in.

[-] WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today 4 points 1 week ago

Why guys free? Why girls not? Homophobic?

Moderator Guidelines

Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.
