This is why I like Baki. The characters are only horny for Baki’s dad and fighting.

Edit: And piss.

It’s the dumbest shit ever, I fucking love it. They’ve got all of the first series on youtube.

Charlotte is a good anime, with the main character kinda being like this in the first episode. But that's it. I highly recomend it because the show has some of the best character growth ive seen in anything.

[-] WoolyNelson@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

My favorite will always be Perv Asshat from "The Eminence in Shadow".

[-] Funkt4st1c@lemmy.world 64 points 2 days ago

This + randomly mentioning the primary love interest is 16 or 17 when the story literally does not change at all if theyre 18 instead

[-] ComicalMayhem@lemmy.world 48 points 2 days ago

To play the devils advocate, 16 is the age of consent in Japan (where these anime are made). Pointing out the character is 16/17 is the equivalent of pointing out they're 18. Whether you agree with that morally is a different issue.

I just don't want them to be in high school, man. Doesn't matter what country high schoolers have zero life experience and shouldn't be thought of as adults.

[-] Enekk@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

I don't disagree with you, to be very very clear, but I find it fascinating how radically things have changed since I was a kid (and I'm just a millennial). We were flooded with messaging, left over from a time when highschool was the last step for most before the job market, about how highschool was where kids became adults. How many films from that time hype sexualized high schoolers?

[-] TAG@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

I prefer that to anime where they show the protagonist's pre-teen sister, but say that despite her looks she is actually 18 and adopted.

[-] binarytobis@lemmy.world 36 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Pretty much every anime I like is like that. Interesting story, fresh take, strong art direction, just ignore that one bit where this character is a huge pervert.

Like, Overlord is one of the least sexual plots ever. Completely unnecessary to drive the plot forward. But of course some of the characters are obsessed with getting that skeleton dick.

[-] MonkderVierte@lemmy.zip 12 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Yup. Every 2. episode like: no, lady pervert, that will not work 🙄.

[-] RickyRigatoni@piefed.zip 14 points 2 days ago

This is how I felt with Time Stop Hero but it was the MC. I got drawn into it because it has interesting usages of time stop, like him stopping time to drag himself miles to a healer after receiving a mortal wound, BUT his favorite thing to do with time stop is to lift up women's skirts and stare at their panties for a few weeks straight. Like dude. You are a reasonably attractive guy who has special powers and does the cool fight. Just ask them.

[-] SkyezOpen@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

I know nothing about the show but that's literally what I would expect from something called time stop hero. If someone recommended it to me I'd 100% assume it was hentai.

[-] jerkface@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 day ago

You leave him out of this.

[-] AnarchoEngineer@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 2 days ago

but hey at least the show is bisexual horny. I mean the women definitely have unreasonably tight clothing but the men are the only ones getting sexy fully naked camera pans lol

[-] SkyezOpen@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

bisexual horny

Speed of sound sonic especially.

[-] Senal@programming.dev 5 points 2 days ago

Im not sure that applies here, isn't he literally a prisoner because of all the raping.

[-] AnarchoEngineer@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Technically I think he just says he “takes” the beautiful men theres some ambiguity there so maybe its just kidnapping lol

Plus I think OP has a problem with the like casual SA that happens in anime. You never see Puri Puri prisoner do anything really pervy like spying on people naked or groping people etc. Instead the worst that happens is that he is just naked all the time lol

[-] Sirius006@sh.itjust.works 9 points 1 day ago

Ironically, as far as I remember, Jujutsu Kaisen does not have this flaw. The main female characters are strong and not sexualized. Or maybe I forgot.

[-] w3ird_sloth@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

I thought Todo would be one of these with his "What kind of girls are you into" line but he just turned out to be awesome.

[-] binux@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Definitely true for them being unobjectified and generally proficient but they often end up being quite forgettable and/or underutilized unfortunately. So it kind of goes from one side of the subpar female character writing spectrum to the other. I’d go into detail but I don’t want to go on a tirade about how disappointing it is.

[-] Sirius006@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 day ago

I completely agree with the "underutilized". That is certainly the best adjective to sum up the situation.

[-] socsa@piefed.social 12 points 2 days ago

Me wanting to recommend a great anime, but remembering the only fan service is in the first episode:

cough Dandadan

[-] Martineski@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 1 day ago

I remember trying out the manga a long time ago but noped out in the first chapter where the female character almost got raped and it all got portrayed as comedy. If that's the author's hook I have no hope or expectations for the rest of the series.

[-] socsa@piefed.social 8 points 1 day ago

Yeah it's the same in the anime. Strapped to a chair, spread eagle with sexy lingerie on while the aliens whip out weird mechanical dicks and say they need to impregnate her.

Then the scene plays absolutely no role in at least the next two seasons.

[-] ThunderComplex@lemmy.today 1 points 1 day ago

Dandadan gave us peak memes tho. The McDonalds intro version specifically goes way too hard

Okay, so I was going to suggest Disastrous Life of Saiki K because there’s 0 fanservice and the main character is aroace.

Then, I remembered there is one character who is an incel and trying to get girls is like his whole schtick. However, he doesn’t show up very often though, and he never actually succeeds in doing basically anything inappropriate. So I still highly recommend it.

[-] Varpeggio@lemmy.zip 7 points 1 day ago

Saiki K is hilarious, too. Actually funny and clever jokes. It mostly doesn’t cross the line, either, with the exception of like two frames.

Seven deadly sins...eeh ooh eeh oooh eeeh oooh.

Hero Academia has a grapeist hero that assaults multiple women.

[-] Soggy@lemmy.world 17 points 2 days ago

I hate this dude so much I stopped watching the show.

[-] IronBird@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

most annoying part there is creator jumping through hoops justifying it. is why i like Bleach...creator just goes "i just ike big tits" when asked about the sexy outfits/boob windows.

[-] ramble81@lemmy.zip 5 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

I was referring to what series the gif is from. 😆

[-] Polkira@piefed.ca 6 points 1 day ago

I believe the gif is from Jujutsu Kaisen

[-] SCmSTR 4 points 2 days ago
[-] belluck 3 points 1 day ago

Leorio probably. Hisoka was a pervert in a villainous way, Leorio was perverted for comedic relief. One of the very few things I dislike about that show

[-] SCmSTR 4 points 1 day ago

I'm recently rewatching bleach and Japan has issues. I don't remember leorio ever doing perverted stuff, but I wouldn't be surprised. It's been a while since I saw it though

[-] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

I have no idea about this instance, but often the point of a movie/show's writing is to make you uncomfortable in order to make a larger point.

[-] Ganymede@sh.itjust.works 21 points 2 days ago

Its possible to do that without putting in a pervert

[-] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

Obviously, unless your goal is to call out that behavior

[-] andros_rex@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

Except usually they aren’t putting those characters in to make you feel uncomfortable? It’s usually presented for laughs or completely normalized.

Like, there’s a huge difference between something like Usagi Drop and Lolita, even if some of the plot beats are similar…

P.S. It might be easiest to upload your GIFs to Imgur/Giphy and put a direct link as your post (thus embedding) as Lemmy often doesn't play nicely with them natively.
