They haven’t given up here. I’ve seen zero decrease in the amount of Emotional Support Truck douchebaggery in my daily outings. And there’s no doubt in my mind that these are the same people angrily ripping the Trump “I did that!” stickers off the gas pumps.

Anyone who drives one of these things voluntarily can stfu about the price of literally everything.

It’s been a few months since I’ve had a truck come up behind my mom mini suv mobile and honk and rev angrily for literally no reason, and that was a weekly occurrence for the last handful of years. They can’t stand when people do the literal maximum speed limit in the right lane for some reason

[-] ThePantser@sh.itjust.works 24 points 2 days ago

Yea they all stopped trying to race my EV, I always left them in the cloud of smog they created.

[-] JoShmoe@ani.social 6 points 2 days ago

My car makes obnoxious vrum vrums into forgotten hmm hmms.

[-] shininghero@pawb.social 12 points 2 days ago

If you have a rear windshield washer sprayer, see if you can angle it straight backwards so it sprays on them.
Bonus points if you make the washer fluid yellow.

[-] okwhateverdude@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

And one of those annoying Calvin stickers to go along with it, I guess

They can’t stand when people do the literal maximum speed limit in the right lane for some reason.

~~You shouldn’t be in the left lane if you’re doing the speed limit for more than a mile.~~

Didn’t read the original comment closely enough and thought it said left lane.

[-] BonsaiBoo@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago

Are we just sharing common sense considerate road laws? Because I made sure to explicitly say these people are raging behind me in the right lane, not left. They just seem to get on the road to be a jerk.

[-] W98BSoD@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Whoops! Thought you said left lane, sorry!

[-] plutopos@lemmy.zip 3 points 2 days ago

What do you mean

[-] Return_of_Chippy@lemmy.world 17 points 2 days ago

Yeah as a small farm owner who actually needs and uses a truck. These guys are the highest level of cringe.

[-] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago

And they're tbe same people that were snidely putting the Biden versions on the pumps a few years ago.

[-] Justifier@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago

What I find hilarious is I've had my finger on the car market pulse as I'm looking to get a another vehicle between now and 2028 (electric, I'll never own a gas vehicle again. An older unneutered diesel maybe, but never increasingly ethenol diluted American petrol)

The dealers near me hit a brick wall according to the websites I've been using, selling almost zero trucks since unleaded prices tipped past $4.⁰⁰ locally, and before that they were moving about 50% of their new stock of +$60,000 trucks each month, with over 85% moving before the 6 month mark which is frankly just danmed impressive that so many people can get that credited in this region

It's pretty laughable to drive about here and see a brand new 2026 GMC top trim truck in front of a 900ft² 1960's delapitated on-slab

I've started to see what looks like an european version of the F150 called ford ranger in here in Italy. In fucking Florence of all places!

i mean, have you ever played Assassin's creed 2? THAT Florence, because the old part of the town is virtually identical. And you bring such a beast here? Mate, there are streets here that are too narrow for a bloody Smart! And you pretend to drive that here? You are just that dumb, right? How small and insecure must make your tiny dick feel to buy a fucking american truck to drive in a town like this?!

[-] LadyMeow 19 points 2 days ago

The ranger is just another truck made by ford, not really a European specific thing. We see them here in the US. It’s smaller than the F150.

[-] Pat_Riot@lemmy.today 18 points 2 days ago

Though the current Ranger is pretty close to the size of an F-150 from the 90s. Rangers used to be small like the S10 Chevy or Mazda B2200.

[-] LadyMeow 5 points 2 days ago

That’s true! It’s insane how big American cars are and how they just get bigger.

[-] THE_GR8_MIKE@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

Pretty close, but in the modern day it's over a meter longer and like a foot wider. It's noticeably bigger.

[-] Pat_Riot@lemmy.today 3 points 2 days ago

I saw them side by side at Costco. The difference is negligible.

The F150 is BIGGER?! And here I was thinking you must be a special kind of idiot to buy that kind of truck... turns out there's an even specialer kind of idiot who buys an even bigger one...

[-] MrScruff@lemmy.zip 7 points 2 days ago

Not saying it isn't an interesting visual representation but Jesus fucking Christ some consistency in the children height/distance would make for way better comparison.

[-] cojo5@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 days ago

each child is the same height in each picture. the diagram shows how far they can be while still being invisible to the driver.

[-] MrScruff@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Well that makes more sense. Turns out I'm a big dumdum.

Thanks!

You can definitely tell I didn't even try to parse the numbers. Since it clearly states the 3yo child in my eyes would have been a 3m tall monster lol

[-] cojo5@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 days ago

haha i had to look so it twice. it doesn’t help that the distance to the vehicle is above their heads, which is exactly where i’d put a height

[-] Commander_Keen@reddthat.com 11 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Don’t look up the f-450 - f-650 line. 👀

[-] Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 2 days ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Why does that look so much like AI?

[-] petrol_sniff_king 3 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Because it is~

Look at the mangled weirdo on the left side. Is that supposed to be another truck?

[-] Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 day ago

Lol, fair xD

[-] marcos@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

The lighting is weird, and the car is twice as weird.

I think AI wouldn't make an image like that even if you explicitly asked for it.

[-] dejected_warp_core@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

Good lord. At what point do we require a CDL to drive these things?

[-] Commander_Keen@reddthat.com 2 points 2 days ago

They should be required for anything above a f250 imho. But TIL that a CDL wasn’t even a thing until 1992 👀.

[-] Unstoppable_Flop@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 days ago

Right after we make cybertrucks safe

They aren't uncommon across the Alps here in France. I would hate to have to park one literally anywhere here.

[-] heartSagan5@lemmy.zip 4 points 2 days ago

Yeah, there was a Ford Ranger plant here in Minnesota. We couldn’t get someone to turn it back into a factory. Now, it’s turned into condos. And it seems like Boomers are the biggest buyers who are little bitches when we want a taproom for some reason.

[-] hansolo@lemmy.today 4 points 2 days ago

I think I saw some dipshit with one there last year. I just figured it was the kid of the owner is the local Ford dealership. Surely no one else would spend money on one and drive it into city center, other than for the spectacle alone... right? Surely this just one guy, right?

What's funny is how relatively rare the VW Amarok is in Europe. Buy local for your shitkicker pickup truck!

[-] Tar_alcaran@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 days ago

The only Amaroks I've ever seen here in the Netherlands were military camo green.

[-] hansolo@lemmy.today 2 points 2 days ago

The most I've seen in one place was South Africa. But only ever seen white, black, or dark blue.

[-] Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 days ago

I think I see them moatly witg landscapers and garden maintenance companies.
But they could be other models.

[-] lyrial@anarchist.nexus 4 points 1 day ago

I saw an odd site yesterday. It was a lifted 2020'ish Ram 2500 with all of the features added to make it say "I am very bad ass". This included as large of an American flag as is allowed. Here's the kicker - the flag was upside down. I'm still unsure if this was a statement piece, or a moron.

[-] mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca 10 points 2 days ago

idk. I still got coal rolled on a bike trip last weekend

[-] MehBlah@lemmy.world 13 points 2 days ago

I'm laughing at the all the bro dozers right now. They never learn and keep buying gas hogs.

[-] EggInDisguise 13 points 2 days ago

The local small penis Hotspot has been experiencing shrinkage lately.

It's been great.

[-] basxto@discuss.tchncs.de 11 points 2 days ago

mating season ❤️

[-] 5ha99y@lemmus.org 13 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Nature Documentary Narrator: "The Human. A peculiar specimin within the primate kingdom..."

I actually would love a Nature Documentary style explanation about humans, as if they were just another species spotlighted in their documentary seriesXD

[-] yakko@feddit.uk 5 points 2 days ago

You want Baba Brinkman's "Short term mating dance" music video.

[-] jballs@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 days ago

Lol genuinely felt bad for the guy when they mentioned the solitary male and zoomed in on him.

[-] qwertyasdf@feddit.uk 5 points 2 days ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

I live in a inbred town in the UK and they just honk their horns repeatedly. I'm guessing this is the same thing
