Oh yeah basically all senses became more intense.
Please don't eat ketchup by itself. My insane 4 year old daughter does that. It makes me gag every time she does it.
Edit: im not sure if this is placebo, because its only been 6 days which is in all likelihood not nearly enough time to see effects but I smelled mango chutney on the street on the way back from the shop and the only place it could have come from was an Indian couple 100+ meters down the street. (There was noone else closer and it wasn't a residential neighborhood). I could have recreated it from the smell alone.
I essentially have found that all flavors are more vibrant, more intense.
Sweet is sweeter, bitter is more bitter, salty is saltier ... Flavors are just more.
Biggest one for me is coffee and dark chocolate became enjoyable. Used to just be flavorless bitter unpleasantness. Now the butter is complex and the other tastes can sneak through.
Used to be an exclusive tea drinker before HRT
Nothing changed in that aspect for me?
I dunno, but what impress me the most is how body reacts now to stimulus whether it's a mental image or physical touch. I love it so much and I wish as I was on THS F sooner.
Disgust is stronger as well as euphoria and laughter.
I've never laughed as much as I have these days.
Honestly before I could have a chuckle, a smile, probably a good laugh 2-3 times in 30 years pre-ths.
Cant get enough chocolate. I was ok with it before but i crave it now. Like crave
I've not noticed much of a change in taste. Others mentioned starting to like coffee, but that was me before. For a long time I've enjoyed strong, astringent, and bitter flavors, and transitioning hasn't changed that. I drank my coffee black, I enjoyed 98% cacao dark chocolate, and I've imported vegemite for my own enjoyment. Not sure there is room to grow the palette in that sort of direction.
The one exception is salt, and pickles. I like salty foods, I have cravings for salt. That's a well know effect of spironolactone, the specific antiandrogen and diuretic I'm using. I've since reduced the dose, and that made the salt cravings go away.
