Fuck you, Larry

[-] troybot@piefed.social 60 points 1 month ago

You see what happens, Larry?? This is what happens when you find a stranger in the Alps

[-] P1k1e@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

This is the second time I've ever heard this said in my whole life, which was just weird enough that I looked it up. And...huh

[-] zod000@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 1 month ago

That was more or less the reaction of everyone that heard it in the badly censored version of the movie as well.

Thank you for posting a version with the "Fuck" added back in, OP. The lord gave us that word and the devil is trying to take it away.

Hmm, I'm just thinking, what is stopping someone from getting you to their home for business reasons, then trying to seduce you, then if you refuse and back away, screaming rape?

It's not safe to be a delivery guy, I don't trust people enough.

EDIT: Fun to see people get predictably upset, this is just my opinion based on (points at everything) the entire fucking slave system we built, some years of getting backstabbed for no good reason (Was playing Roblox as a kid, guy uses me as a pilot, then attempts to shoot me in the back, kills me after a short conflict, didn't even do the villian gloating), people jumping into cars to get insurance.

I always have to take everything into account, that my own father might use me and leave me moneyless (I had to stop giving money so I can have some for myself finally), that just looking at the wrong person might get me shot, that everyone trying to help could be predatory. Found a lot of this out the hard way. You will as well.

Mainly the fact that you are standing at the front door where everyone in public can see that it is just some crazy person screaming rape.

You do know you can do that literally everywhere right? With the same amount of success. (aka: none)

No wonder you don't trust people with that kind of dumb mindset.

Also the fact that you walk away and go do another delivery suddenly you've got evidence you were doing something else at the time

[-] WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today 2 points 1 month ago

At least that makes sense 90% of the time.

Chastity belt + 1 day blinding stew

[-] Atlas_@lemmy.world 12 points 1 month ago

1 day blinding stew will really do the trick

[-] SkyeStarfall 10 points 1 month ago

Burden of proof, generally

[-] Midnitte@beehaw.org 8 points 1 month ago

Same thing that's stopping you from raping someone I suppose. If you're that worried about it, wear a body cam.

[-] WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today 2 points 1 month ago

You mean, other than ethics (I don't have society's shitty morals, I have my own and don't need them), there's also that humans are like cockroaches to me after the Epstein Files, and all that's happened. Touching another human is horrific. But not everyone shares my view, there's obviously people who rape, and eat babies literally.

If it's legal, I would. Don't want to go through the unpleasantness until I show the video.

Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.
