woman existing outside the kitchen is already political, the bar is that low

Woman exists, it's political. Cause how is she sitting, what is she wearing, what is she doing, is she doing a good enough job?

Yay thank you communism

People existing is already political.

Politics is about how we want to live together. Non political means the status quo is fine and nobody should change it for the better.

i agree, everything is political. not in a joking/sarcastic way. but everything is political. me existing is political. but I'm not sure a femcel forum is the ideal place for this conversation.

There's a frequent poster over in the lemmyshitpost comm who's been catching backlash for hornyposting, and she posted this image which I thought was darkly funny. I thought other horny femmes (and embies and whomever) might appreciate the sentiment. Maybe it's just me, but I like the idea that my being a thirsty pan isn't pathetic, just political.

I'm honestly sad about this. Like, men can make horny jokes in any space that allows horny jokes, but heaven forbid femmes do the same. There is some bullshit going on outside of my usual comms and it's frustrating.

Femmes making horny jokes is my favorite thing honestly. Sex was always a special interest of mine so it made me sad to feel I couldn't share that with women without coming off as a creep (pre-transition at least). Fellow femmes horny posting makes me feel welcome and all warm and fuzzy inside, like I'm finally with my people.

I feel that too , I am a guy and I would love to be able to do horny jokes with woman , but somehow a lot of people shame them for that . :(

Let women have fun fr

I think part of what's confusing is the grammar - am I supposed to read it as

"women who are perverts" <- this is deeply political

or is it a typo and it should be "women who are perverts are deeply political"?

either way, yeah - women and sexuality are both deeply political, duh

Por que no los dos?

[-] petrol_sniff_king 4 points 2 weeks ago

Wait, I'm out of the loop, what's the backlash?

[-] sundray@lemmus.org 7 points 2 weeks ago

The user posts PG-13 memes that imply that she's horny, and some comments push back; some go as far as saying she shouldn't be posting them.

I’m a guy, and personally I enjoy violet’s hornypostings - hope to see more!

I see people using the word "political" to refer to things that provoke discussions and/or disagreements (not sure if that's the case here). Wouldn't "controversial" be a better word for that use?

As far as I understand, political means being involved in public affairs of some kind, like working in politics, doing activism, etc.

I'm not a native English speaker, so correct me if I'm wrong.

[-] sundray@lemmus.org 8 points 2 weeks ago

Yes, here in the USA "political" can refer to all the things you mentioned, as well as being a synonym for "controversial". But its meaning has been stretched and twisted here.

For example, there's a whole line of discourse about what constitutes "a political act", i.e. something that contributes to advocacy: you may have heard someone say "love is a political act" or "trans joy is a political act". And sometimes "political act" is just shortened to "political".

And disingenuous right-wing grifters have adopted the word to refer to any agenda the disagree with, and they intend it as derogatory. It's a loaded word, now.

Why is it that the bad things are always just "status quo" but when I want good things it's always "political"?

Welcome to femcel memes. A place where anybody can post memes that fit the vibe.

Warning: We have a tendency to post things that may at times come from a self-deprecating perspective or things that are funny coming from another queer person. This space will always be a safe place for transfems, non-binary people, people with a feminine gender expression (GNC or otherwise) or anybody else in the LGBT Community to come together and share about our experiences but we truly feel that laughing about the sometimes silly and embarrassing parts the queer experience can help bring us together. We never mean offense or harm in anything posted but rather they are satirical takes coming from queer people.

A note about 'Egging': Our community is mostly made up of transfem individuals, and as such most memes posted will be posted with the intention of having a transfem perspective. However, regardless of gender identity, all feminine presenting individuals are welcome here. Whether that means you're NB, GNC, transmasc, or any other identity, you are welcome here. It is not our intention or goal to invalidate these identities. If something makes you uncomfortable, please feel free to report the post and I will address your concerns on an individual level. For more information regarding the problems with 'Egg-culture', please see Here.
