Sit where you are, invite them to come join you

[-] pruwybn@discuss.tchncs.de 62 points 10 months ago

Watch as they both ignore you.

[-] gerryflap@feddit.nl 37 points 10 months ago

Then at least it's their own fault

[-] Natanael@infosec.pub 20 points 10 months ago

Nothing is a cat's fault - cats

[-] RedEyeFlightControl@lemmy.world 9 points 10 months ago

Then you gotta play the game. Stand real still. Lick your arm. Scratch your head a little. Then spaz out and run away.

[-] panda_abyss@lemmy.ca 24 points 10 months ago

That’s what a cat would do

[-] BrazenSigilos@ttrpg.network 110 points 10 months ago

The same thing a cat would do. Look at them both, give a slow blink, then stand up and walk away to go do my own thing.

Check mate kitty 🙀♟️🎭

[-] gedaliyah@lemmy.world 72 points 10 months ago

Power move. You sit down in the hallway and make them come to you.

[-] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 67 points 10 months ago

Refuse to participate in this no-win scenario.

Instead? Ignore them and eat a can of tuna.

[-] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 28 points 10 months ago

They will both come running to demand you drop some tuna for them

[-] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 37 points 10 months ago

This is the ideal, yes.

If you can’t win a scenario, change the scenario.

[-] Curious_Canid@lemmy.ca 3 points 10 months ago

Just make sure they don't have access to where you sleep.

[-] very_well_lost@lemmy.world 45 points 10 months ago

Turn and walk away. Never negotiate with terrorists!

[-] LadyButterfly@reddthat.com 7 points 10 months ago

Mate I'm still laughing as I type this comment thank you so much

[-] handsoffmydata@lemmy.zip 36 points 10 months ago

Walk into the kitchen, shake treat container.

[-] Taleya@aussie.zone 30 points 10 months ago

Sit in the hallway and open a bag of treats

There is this thing called "pspsps" did you know that?

[-] felixwhynot@lemmy.world 21 points 10 months ago

Lay on the ground and meow

[-] Microtonal_Banana@lemmy.zip 21 points 9 months ago

I sit in the hallway and say 'pss pss pss pss" while making a scratching motion with my hand. The cat that comes over first becomes King.

[-] niktemadur@lemmy.world 20 points 10 months ago

Ooh, a double slit! Do like the ol' photon or electron interfering with itself, both slits at the same time.

[-] WhiskyTangoFoxtrot@lemmy.world 8 points 10 months ago

The revenge of Schrödinger's cat.

[-] Triumph@fedia.io 19 points 10 months ago
[-] lath@piefed.social 18 points 10 months ago

Go into either room, pick up the cat in it, then throw it in the other room and close the door.

[-] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 15 points 10 months ago

I found the dog owner

[-] usualsuspect191@lemmy.ca 16 points 10 months ago

Close both doors, but not enough to latch, then watch which cat caves first and opens the door

[-] SaraTonin@lemmy.world 13 points 10 months ago

Say “ma-ah!” at them.

That’s apparently cat for “come here”.

[-] JohnEdwa@sopuli.xyz 13 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

If they are my cats, choose the dark one because the white doesn't want to play, he just wants food, and will literally do this if I try.

[-] SkunkWorkz@lemmy.world 13 points 10 months ago

One is lying and one is not. How do you find out without getting scratched?

Make sure they can both see me and understand that I heard their cries. Turn my back and walk away.

Meet injustice with justice.

[-] DeathByBigSad@sh.itjust.works 11 points 10 months ago

Ask Schrödinger to put you in a box, split yourself into 2 timelines, then you can satisfy both cats.

Turn around bc I forgot my water

[-] yakko@feddit.uk 8 points 10 months ago

I whip out my phone and throw the question to chat. Naturally

[-] PartyAt15thAndSummit@lemmy.zip 3 points 10 months ago

To Le Chat, you say?

[-] D_C@sh.itjust.works 7 points 10 months ago

Pfft, easy. I always have a full roasted chicken hidden about my person. ALWAYS!

[-] Korhaka@sopuli.xyz 7 points 10 months ago

I take out a pack of car treats and now both cats are in the same room

[-] sircac@lemmy.world 7 points 10 months ago

Turn around and walk away, they will understand...

[-] ef9357@lemmy.world 7 points 9 months ago

Shake the treat bag so they both come to me.

[-] NigelFrobisher@aussie.zone 6 points 10 months ago
[-] rustydrd@sh.itjust.works 7 points 10 months ago

Congratulations, you now trained your cats to play this little mind game once a day every day.

[-] WanderingThoughts@europe.pub 6 points 10 months ago

Choose one cat and chase it around the house. Next time they're not so sure they want to be picked.

[-] jaupsinluggies@feddit.uk 6 points 9 months ago

Shut both doors, then open a different one and say "Whose a lovely kitty then?".

[-] switcheroo@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago

Sit in the hall in view of both.

Put the ball back into their court. The little hellions...

[-] trashcroissant 5 points 10 months ago

With my current cats I have a clear favourite so I would go to her, and then the other one would run in the room and demand the attention because he is a needy little shit. I love him though, he just never lets her (or anyone) have a moment of peace.

[-] AllToRuleThemOne@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago

Doublesplit Experiment. POV: You are in superposition.

[-] renrenPDX@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 10 months ago

It looks like you have two office/computer setups. Black chair person goes to pink chair and Pink chair person goes to black.

Observe reaction and report back.

[-] regdog@lemmy.world 2 points 9 months ago

Split myself down the middle and play with both cats

[-] LadyButterfly@reddthat.com 2 points 10 months ago

Came here for the comments, was not disappointed. Thanks al!
