Wow. That was fast. Do we need to fundraise for additional curses?

[-] bamboo 39 points 2 weeks ago

The curse was set on or before Sept 8th. Archived version: https://archive.is/x3RWd

They have since added this to the article:

Editor’s Note: This story was published on September 8. Jezebel condemns the shooting of Charlie Kirk in the strongest possible terms. We do not endorse, encourage, or excuse political violence of any kind.

Aw, weak. They should own it. Be a lot cooler if they did

They mention placing the curse on Aug 24 and saying it would take 2-3 weeks. Turns out witchcraft is real..who knew?

[-] zakurei 20 points 2 weeks ago

Best witch ad I’ve ever seen 🙇‍♀️

[-] ArchmageAzor@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago

A witch's curse but in the lovecraftian way.

[-] Ekybio@lemmy.world 76 points 2 weeks ago

This damn meme format literally outlived him...

[-] apfelwoiSchoppen@lemmy.world 23 points 2 weeks ago

Beautiful, innit?

[-] cupcakezealot@piefed.blahaj.zone 55 points 2 weeks ago

did charlie kirk take one for the team to get people to stop talking about trump being a paedophile?

[-] unexposedhazard@discuss.tchncs.de 39 points 2 weeks ago

Nah people will forget about Kirk within a few days. They wont forget about him raping kids.

[-] Skullgrid@lemmy.world 9 points 2 weeks ago

Nah people will forget about Kirk within a few days

no they won't. I didn't come up with this meme format, the memes have a good 5-10 year lifespan, and this one just extended itself

[-] unexposedhazard@discuss.tchncs.de 6 points 2 weeks ago

The meme has a completely seperate existence from the person tho. What i meant is that people wont be distracted from epstein by kirks death for long.

[-] BakerBagel@midwest.social 32 points 2 weeks ago

Claims to be pro-life:

Fucking dies

[-] deadbeef79000@lemmy.nz 21 points 2 weeks ago

Is... is his face shopped in this meme?

[-] bjoern_tantau@swg-empire.de 52 points 2 weeks ago

Yes, it was increased in size so that it doesn't look so weird.

[-] deadbeef79000@lemmy.nz 21 points 2 weeks ago

Exactly what I was expecting as the first reply.

Bravo.

[-] bjoern_tantau@swg-empire.de 12 points 2 weeks ago

I greatly appreciate the lone setup comment. Too often do they fall by the wayside.

[-] bdonvr@thelemmy.club 17 points 2 weeks ago

Yeah they shopped the blood out

[-] deadbeef79000@lemmy.nz 5 points 2 weeks ago

Moderator Guidelines

Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.
