The entire world would be a MUCH better place if politicians were actually punished for knowingly lying under oath.

Especially if they were considered under oath at all times when discussing policy.

In stead, there's like a dozen or two politicians in all of Washington that don't deliberately mislead the public for power and profit on a daily basis.

It would also be a better place if members of the president's cabinet were required to have expertise in the area they work in

"Knowingly" is a really hard one to prove.

They should get the punishment that oath breakers tended to get in so called savage societies. Cut out their tongue or if severe enough public execution.

Such a fucking idiot. I do not know how hes tricked people into thinking hes smart.

[-] ThePantser@sh.itjust.works 28 points 3 days ago

Idk who he has tricked other than Donald because I haven't seen or heard anyone saying good things about him.

[-] bridgeenjoyer@sh.itjust.works 19 points 3 days ago

Some very stupid libertarian, people I know think he's great. Plus he tricks people by saying a couple, things that are super obvious, like corn fructose syrup is bad. We have all known this forever.

It reminds me of the family guy, nine eleven was bad bit.

Trump doesn't care if he's smart or not. Trump traded dropping out of the race and endorsing himself in exchange for HHS. Purely a political transaction.

Donald put him there to aid in the destruction of the US.

The wrong Kennedy was shot was in 1963.

Not to make excuses for him but his dad and his uncle were both assassinated. If that doesn't make you mental, I don't know what does. He clearly has no place in government or any position of authority. He should be committed.

As the other comment said, his dad was also assassinated shortly before he was likely to win the California presidential primary.

His father would be rolling in his grave... The Kennedys are fucked, but RFK Sr. seemed like he could have been a transformational president.

There's a documentary series about him called "RFK For President" that I found super interesting. Bobby seemed like the most thoughtful and empathetic of the Kennedys and it's a shame we lost him so soon.

Meanwhile, in other breaking news:

  • Recent archeological studies suggest that Abraham Lincoln is, in fact, dead;
  • Physicists have determined that the sky is sometimes blue;
  • Neuroscientists are making the bold claim that most humans are more intelligent than rats. They have found that the reverse correlation exists for all those who report surprise at reading our top headline on RFK Jr's testimony!

Shouldn't someone whose job it is to know about health be fired for this shit?

[-] Red0ctober@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago

Short answer, yes. Long answer, also yes
