So, I stopped playing Minecraft when m$ acquired them. I refused to make a ms account. I had already bought the game twice under Mojang.

So, fuck Microsoft. How are you guys playing Mc with friends? Id like to load up my old (7 ish years) world again and play like the good times before ms ruined it all.

I am having the funniest issue! Somewhat recently, I have been having my audio crackle and randomly stop, but ONLY in Counter Strike 2 itself. discord (yes i have to use it as all my friends do and wont change) and background applications keep sound going fine, until I unplug and replug my headphones to get sound back in CS. Then It goes for about another 10 minutes until I have to do it again. It feels like its sometimes triggered by a certain gun or grenade sound, and i hear some fizzing and crackling before it happens. No other program does this.

Very weird. I believe I have pulse audio installed. I am not sure how to check if pipewire installed over top of it or what (i read maybe pulse is the issue?) I tried verifying game files which did not help.

Linux mint, newest stable kernel (i forget which)

Any help appreciated..I know linux doesn't have the best audio situation.

So like many, I was into mc a while back. However after the whole Microsoft debacle and them locking my account because I didnt move it over from mojang, im still mad about it and im not re buying it from m$.

I do love luanti and mineclone, and have tried convincing my friends to play it instead, since its almost totally identical.

But im wondering, is there a way just to play Minecraft with friends over my server without all the Microsoft and account trash?

Posting here since 2 of the 3 of us run mint. I am pretty sure Minecraft runs fine on linuz but I dont recall.

My friend wants to go linux because he hates Microsoft but im worried he will have issues and hes not very techy. Mostly he uses it for a daw, and a lot of that stuff is not compatible with linux. An older MacBook would work better for him I think...he wants to be more privacy conscious but hes not crazy about it.

I love many different genres of music. However I just have never been able to get into Prince. I actually do like that genre/style of music, I just cannot get it for some reason. And I know hes lauded as a musical genius, and I dont see why.

Maybe a silly question - but is it unwise to use Firefox for getting torrents, or saving any bookmarks in firefox? Is there benefit to using a private window (doubtful as I believe this only affects your device).

I know we generally can trust Firefox but they could turn quickly.

Is the inability to see "big picture" things a common adhd trait or just a "people are different" trait?

Example, ive never enjoyed jobs that involve long term planning because most of the managers etc have no clue how the actual work or the details of a project are done. They say they'll "do x thing by y time" without knowing anything about it or the actual amount of work and expertise it would take.

Now im the one doing the detailed actual work. And I enjoy it because its real vs a bunch of people making a plan about something they dont even know how to do.

Same thing with "5 year plans".I literally cannot do it because 1. All my plans involve "have money to do thing" and 2. You could easily get cancer and die in 5 years (or other big changes).

Now I do invest for long term (because its easy) but otherwise I find it very hard to look at big picture things without every single detail.

I find normal people just Google everything and click the top result. They've never even bookmarked a page.

But for those of us who love the real internet (not corpo-net, as id refer to web 3.0 being), html pages and webrings, theyre often not even searchable any more because of enshittification of search engines.

Are there other ways besides bookmarks ?
