Grass is immoral; we're in a drought.

Dog water is one of the dumber gamer phrases. Do you people not give your dogs good, fresh water? Do you even like your dog?!

[-] TotallynotJessica 2 points 13 hours ago

I give dogs good water, but do they always prefer it over a gross puddle 3 days after a rain? I swear they'll seek out the most disgusting water sources simply for the flavor. It's kinda annoying

who's the third character in the grass?

Another trans creator, but I'm not sure

Edit: after investigating, it appears to be Kayla's Artwork.

Touching grass is nice, but it's not enough any more. I need a really good hug. Not one of those casual "okay, see you next time" kind of hugs. A hug like the hug the drummer of a band gave me after a show in 2018, which was the best hug I ever got.

2 of my friends and I randomly decided to do a long group hug one night. I could just feel the happy chemicals coursing through me. We decided we were hugging from then on rather than fist-bumping. And we've stuck to it.

drummers are the real MVPs ♥️

Okay but that might cut the alienation capital depends on, so, only uf you can pay some one for it.

[-] Gaspar@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 18 hours ago

I've been told I give good hugs. If I ever see you offline, I've got one for you. (Admittedly unlikely - I rarely leave the house except to work)

In the meantime, internet hugs. I hope you get a real one soon.

I miss my ex's hugs. She was the perfect height and temperature. Nothing's come close since

[-] festnt@sh.itjust.works 4 points 18 hours ago

i'm sure you'll find someone

Don't leave us hanging, what band? (Only if you're comfortable sharing ofc)

[-] LordAmplifier@pawb.social 7 points 20 hours ago

Sorry, I got lost in a YouTube rabbit hole and spent an hour listening to music and crying a little, but it was Silent Planet in a tiny venue with, like, thirty people there and it was really cool. This is what the vibes were like, except there was no barrier and the vocalist walked around in the room sometimes. (The linked song is about the Native American genocide in the US. All of their songs are like that, and it's kinda difficult to link to my favourites because a lot of them mention mental illness, suicide, and other potentially triggering stuff)

[-] JetpackJackson@feddit.org 2 points 17 hours ago

Oh wow I'll have to check them out, they look cool! I think it's good to listen to bands that really make you think

Is there a capture point/king of the hill gamemode in minecraft? Im guessing its minecraft, points sound like tf2 or overwatch

[-] TotallynotJessica 2 points 13 hours ago

that dissonance is typical for shaveposts

[-] celeste@feddit.org 3 points 15 hours ago

Don't show this to rainbolt!

[-] BadJojo 10 points 21 hours ago

Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.
