must cover faith-based approaches to gender dysphoria

Couldn't there be a church set up which recognizes trans rights and legitimacy as a matter of "faith"? Then to comply with this new mandate, demands could be made the "faith-based approach to gender dysphoria" would be the recognition of legitimacy for trans people. So the government provided healthcare plans would be compelled to respect the "faith-based" approach of this new church.

That'd be some great rules lawyering if they cared about rules. They make rules to hurt us because we have to follow them, but they can just make up whatever they want and decide when they follow the rules or not. If you did that, they'd say it's not a real religion, or say the 1st Amendment doesn't apply to what you're doing, or even just refuse to give the money.

If you did that, they’d say it’s not a real religion,

This is exactly what I hope they do. I want them to stand out and say they are deciding what a real religion is and what isn't because that will step are so many toes it can drive a groundswell of support far and wide beyond the trans community. Others that have no particular ties to the goals of the trans community (perhaps even staunch opponents) may come to the aid on this one cause because if the powers-that-be decided they are able to say a religion isn't real far more people will be effected because they have other things to lose they care about.

It's possible that The Satanic Temple could add it to their "rituals" list like they did for abortions, but it's all irrelevant. This should be illegal already as it discriminates against several protected classes, but here we are. It would take a federal court ruling to block this, but those are also already being ignored right now in other cases.

There are open and affirming UCC churches.

For anyone (like me) who relies on these plans, look into exceptions if they apply to you, or better yet, look for an alternative plan. I'm not confident that the current political climate is likely to overrule this EO, or that it would even matter if anyone did. Since healthcare in the US is based on annual enrollment periods, it would be prudent to have an alternative lined up.
