that's satire, right? has to be. please. "unemployed minors", that's just a fancy phrase for "children" who ARE IN SCHOOL

[-] wreckedcarzz@lemmy.world 35 points 5 months ago

The question stands 😂

[-] GladiusB@lemmy.world 2 points 5 months ago

You mean "fun money"

[-] snooggums@midwest.social 62 points 5 months ago

The taxing of couches is legit!

[-] Wiz@midwest.social 6 points 5 months ago

What about renting for an hour?

Asking for a friend.

[-] Veneroso@lemmy.world 3 points 5 months ago

Who among us was not a confused and horny young man, left alone and unsupervised for a few hours, and allowed for a wandering mind......

[-] JonsJava@lemmy.world 178 points 5 months ago

My single favorite report was on this one.

Misleading title, it's not clear this is a parody post.

For those that don't know, it's a parody.

[-] Treczoks@lemmy.world 70 points 5 months ago

It is obvious because of "couches", but apart from that, it could have been 100% Fox "News".

Making parodies in modern times is a difficult business. You make up a joke, just to see that reality just overtook you with the pedal to the metal.

[-] Lianodel@ttrpg.network 10 points 5 months ago

It sucks that I was unsure at "unemployed minors," because the party is overtly pro-child labor and that bad at optics.

[-] Landless2029@lemmy.world 61 points 5 months ago

Honestly the only thing that threw me off is taxes on couches. Otherwise I would've thought this was real

[-] deadbeef79000@lemmy.nz 7 points 5 months ago

That was where I figured it out too.

[-] Uruanna@lemmy.world 4 points 5 months ago

Nah I was completely ready to believe that Fox News would take a joke Walz made about couches (which I knew he did) and claim it was an assault on money and freedom.

[-] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 28 points 5 months ago

I really can't tell with this reality anymore

[-] DrDominate@lemmy.world 15 points 5 months ago

I honestly didn't believe you until I saw the "Tax on corporate profits, couches"

[-] someguy3@lemmy.world 7 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

Did they just change the list? I'm not sure what to think if the ~~title~~ headline is accurate or not.

[-] brucethemoose@lemmy.world 4 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

I'd say it's innacurate.

TBH I reported it. I think the title should at least suggest its a parody, though I'm not sure if OP knows it is.

[-] tempest@lemmy.ca 7 points 5 months ago

Lol there is no way Fox would put Couches in there

[-] PhlubbaDubba@lemm.ee 37 points 5 months ago

Is that a real screen? Some of those seem mask off even by Fox's standards.

[-] bdonvr@thelemmy.club 31 points 5 months ago
[-] casmael@lemm.ee 6 points 5 months ago

Gotta think about it because the ‘right’ ‘wing’ is pretty weird and fox is a fire in a bin outside a Gregs in Rotherham but no, the couch fucker tax is a giveaway.

[-] HubertManne@moist.catsweat.com 36 points 5 months ago

I feel like this could be on fox news and they would lap it up.

[-] mPony@lemmy.world 2 points 5 months ago

I feel like this will be shared uncritically by people who sincerely oppose women having "unsupervised female health decisions" et al.

[-] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 33 points 5 months ago

The wingnuts are so messed up I had to read this twice and really try to reassure myself it wasn't real.

[-] TheLowestStone@lemmy.world 31 points 5 months ago

I realized when I got to "couches."

[-] merc@sh.itjust.works 10 points 5 months ago

I could tell by "LGBTQIA+" and "Rights", also the phrasing of the medical care one.

[-] Numberone@startrek.website 26 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

Stop it, stop it. I already like the guy. Geez. But really, great joke.

[-] WoahWoah@lemmy.world 22 points 5 months ago

Meanwhile Trump is proudly sharing clips of his promise to start the largest mass deportations in the history of the country.

Both sides though.

[-] Redfox8@mander.xyz 20 points 5 months ago
[-] joyjoy@lemm.ee 28 points 5 months ago

taxes on corporate profits, couches

[-] masterofn001@lemmy.ca 26 points 5 months ago

This is when I realized it wasn't real.

[-] LittleTarsier@lemmy.ca 5 points 5 months ago

It took me until "couches"

[-] casmael@lemm.ee 3 points 5 months ago
[-] snooggums@midwest.social 7 points 5 months ago

I laughed out loud at the couches, which combined with rampant lgbtq + rights makes it cleary a joke.

[-] DirkMcCallahan@lemmy.world 12 points 5 months ago

I mean, it's obviously fake, but on the other hand, it's disturbingly close to something they'd actually show to rile up their not-so-smart-or-empathetic viewers.

[-] solsangraal@lemmy.zip 6 points 5 months ago

if "tampon tim" is an actual thing in their toolbox, then literally anything could be

[-] Gradually_Adjusting@lemmy.world 6 points 5 months ago

I rarely see anything Fox says for about two decades, and I've felt much better ever since.

[-] octopus_ink@lemmy.ml 6 points 5 months ago

You are really skirting the edge of Poe's Law here. Not sure you could cut it any finer.

[-] doggle@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 5 months ago

No fucking way the couches part is real

[-] MelodiousFunk@slrpnk.net 3 points 5 months ago

I see what you did there.

[-] joyjoy@lemm.ee 4 points 5 months ago

Free advertising is free advertising.

[-] AbsoluteChicagoDog@lemm.ee 4 points 5 months ago

This cannot be real.. Right?

[-] orcrist@lemm.ee 3 points 5 months ago

We agree. It's fake but entertaining. Some of the language is slightly too obvious, even for Trumpists.

[-] qevlarr@lemmy.world 3 points 5 months ago

This isn't weird at all, lol 😝🔨

[-] ByteOnBikes@slrpnk.net 2 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

This picture is just oozing with WINNING. From the points made, to that bottom right where the economy is up.

Whoever thought this was on Brand for Fox must have gotten canned.

[-] Clinicallydepressedpoochie@lemmy.world 2 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, is this a tankee???

I feel like they intentionally fucked with the kerning on the font in his name to give the illusion that it looks Cyrillic.
