The intrinsic intolerance hidden just beneath the veneer of an accepting society drives us straight to the bottom and splits us in two, whether it be sexuality, race, or lactose. Whoever needs to hear it, it’s okay to be gay, black, or a milk drinker.

[-] BluJay320 165 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Fuck that. Fuck you. Fuck milk drinkers. Oh, you want milkies? Oh, you wanna suck titty juice like a baby? You gonna cry? Gonna piss your pants? Maybe shit and cum?

I’ll be here drinking apple juice with my chicken nuggies and mac and cheese like a REAL big kid

[-] Gullible@sh.itjust.works 68 points 2 months ago

I pray that you might eventually join me in a society beyond lactose intolerance, my wayward friend.

[-] MadhuGururajan@programming.dev 9 points 2 months ago

Just in case it isn't sarcasm: You will more sooner die of heart attack than the milk drinker if you overdo it.

Yeah, but straight from the carton? In public?

[-] Socsa@sh.itjust.works 10 points 2 months ago

Sure, if you are a baby cow

[-] sugar_in_your_tea@sh.itjust.works 10 points 2 months ago

So it's only okay to be gay if I'm a baby cow?

[-] BennyInc@feddit.org 176 points 2 months ago

It depends on how you drink it.

[-] Alpha71@lemmy.world 40 points 2 months ago

I still can't believe they put that in Mortal Kombat.

[-] NaibofTabr@infosec.pub 92 points 2 months ago

Fucking milk drinker walking around Skyrim.

[-] magnetosphere@fedia.io 53 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

I can’t help but wonder if people were laughing at something besides the milk. Were they wearing a Sailor Moon outfit, complete with wig?

[-] dohpaz42@lemmy.world 51 points 2 months ago

Would you risk openly laughing at a dude drinking milk, dressed as Sailor Moon?

[-] Iheartcheese@lemmy.world 36 points 2 months ago

I'd be too busy masturbating

[-] rem26_art@fedia.io 14 points 2 months ago

absolutely not. In the name of the moon (and milk), they'd punish me

[-] magnetosphere@fedia.io 7 points 2 months ago

Good question. I think I’d just avoid eye contact and laugh with my friends about it later.

[-] criitz@reddthat.com 18 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

No one was laughing, this is all fantasy in OOP's head

[-] Trainguyrom@reddthat.com 50 points 2 months ago

Folks really need to normalize casually drinking milk the same way people drink CO2-infused sugar water. Milk is delicious and a great base source of nutrients.

[-] TomAwsm@lemmy.world 23 points 2 months ago

Move over, Hydro Homies. Now is the time for Milk Mates.

[-] ILikeBoobies@lemmy.ca 8 points 2 months ago

Dani the youtuber promotes milk

[-] orb360@lemmy.ca 21 points 2 months ago

I'll meet you half way with some CO2-infused milk.

OP was drinking milk out of the carton. I'd side-eye someone walking around drinking a 2 liter just as hard.

[-] yboutros@infosec.pub 10 points 2 months ago

You're right, we need water fountains with milk instead

need to normalize casually drinking milk

I don't think I or any rational adult of sound mind and health would look at someone drinking a carton of milk and have anything close to a thought at all, much less a thought of ridicule or judgement. I am not getting or connecting with the persecution complex in this post.

The reason you don't see people drinking milk as commonly as other drinks is that lactose intolerance is a huge thing, and even if you don't have a genetic predisposition to lactose problems, as you get older it gets harder and harder to digest. This is why milk is often associated with kids, it's good for growing bodies but not so much for someone who's already an adult.

Also, it's not that refreshing. The fat content makes it feel less hydrating than water or fat-free liquids of any kind.

Milk is fucking delicious.

[-] antipiratgruppen@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 2 months ago

Cream and butter is even better!

[-] _stranger_@lemmy.world 24 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Walking around eating a stick of butter should not be more socially acceptable, but it might be.

Drinking milk straight from the carton, in public?

Have you no self respect, Anon?

[-] RootBeerGuy@discuss.tchncs.de 32 points 2 months ago
[-] joyjoy@lemm.ee 28 points 2 months ago

We're jealous you can drink milk at all without shitting yourself violently.

his mistake was that it wasn't beer (alcohol) /s

Honestly, this reminds me of the "facebook crisis": it's forbidden to show a nipple publicly on facebook, but they accept pictures of guns. Really shows you their values and ideals.

Add some kahlua and vodka. You got a White Russian goin’.

[-] Sarmyth@lemmy.world 18 points 2 months ago

What's a milk drinker like you doing out here? Go home to your mother!

[-] drmoose@lemmy.world 17 points 2 months ago

the thought of putting some slaved animal's titty sweat into my mouth makes me legit want throw up ngl. How the fuck was that ever acceptable?

[-] NuWuX@sh.itjust.works 21 points 2 months ago

It's not sweat, it's closer to mucus and pus and it's delicious! 😋

Just look at it this way:

there are/were a lot of nomadic tribes in human history. All of them wanted to eat, or at least have a stable and significant source of calories. Most of them lived in semi-fertile land though, which was not fertile enough for wheat/corn. So what they did was take a goat, let it eat all of the grass/flowers that naturally grew, and it produced milk for the humans. This way, both humans and the goat could live.

[-] drmoose@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago

How is that relevant to modern age? By that logic nothing is ick and everything is justifiable cause at some point it was ok with our ancestors 🥱

[-] gandalf_der_12te 18 points 2 months ago

How the fuck was that ever acceptable?

I literally answered your question?

Oat milk tastes way better without the whole torturing animals stuff and it isn't even that much more expensive. I really don't understand why people still drink cow milk.

[-] gallopingsnail@lemmy.sdf.org 9 points 2 months ago

Oat milk tastes way better

Yeah, well, that's just like, uh, your opinion, man.

Too many lactose intolerant people.

[-] _lilith@lemmy.world 14 points 2 months ago

One time I was working a late shift in winter and I just needed something warm. I heated up some water and just poured it into my coffee cup. My co-worker looked at me like I was crazy and told me I was a "weird cat" which in itself is kind of ironic. Then he proceeds to fill his coffee mug with diet dr pepper and walk out into a blizzard like it was nothing.

[-] CoolMatt@lemmy.ca 6 points 2 months ago

Not just Dr Pepper, but diet Dr Pepper was an important detail. For some reason I got a little bit of enjoyment out of reading that

[-] CascadianGiraffe@lemmy.world 12 points 2 months ago

Anon was Canadian so the milk was a gallon in an awkward plastic bag.
