The woman is reportedly denying the charges saying during voluntary questioning that she was not aware that the suitcase is a vehicle that requires a driver's license.

When you start to realize that there could be too many laws on the books.

The audacity of that woman!

It seems to be really well thought out. Like the original meme is nice too:

But would be a lot of paint that would flake off easily so the above design looks like it would work much better for a shirt:-).

Bring back 1970s iron-ons!

[-] OpenStars@discuss.online 2 points 4 months ago

And clothing that lasts for ~~more than~~ at least one year, sheesh!

But were people allowed to say "bitch" back then? Truly we have advanced in so many ways!:-)

[-] nilloc@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 4 months ago

Oh yeah definitely not. I’d have been grounded for weeks even in the 80s.

This is when you would respond "Bitch, I said what I said" (Doja Cat, Paint the Town Red), right?! Hrmm.... me neither:-P.

I was on the tail end of kids still getting spanked or worse (last of the gen Xers).

My cousins still had a paddle with holes in it that made a terrible whistling sound before it got you. Their dad was a southerner though was always the excuse.

Nowadays kids parent the previous generation so I'm not entirely certain that things are "better". Probably yes in some ways, worse in others:-|.

Carrying on on her carry on, like a carrion.

That's not really a suit case though. That's a foldable bike.

[-] CanadianCarl@sh.itjust.works 1 points 4 months ago

I guess you are right, my bad. Still the commercial for it is hilarious.

This is the purest form of battery-on-wheels I can imagine and I find this highly amusing.

[-] princessnorah 7 points 4 months ago

Except the one Marques has can go 15mph, or about 24kph, almost twice that of the one in the article.

It has a max speed of 13 kph, that's practically crawling. And she was on a sidewalk. This is just much ado about nothing

Since wind does riding an ebike require a license?

[-] yetAnotherUser@discuss.tchncs.de 16 points 4 months ago

If it can accelerate without pedal-assist, it's not an ebike in many jurisdictions, likely including Japan.

[-] jol@discuss.tchncs.de 7 points 4 months ago

Japan might not have a category for e-bikes. The article says the suitcase was considered a motorbike.

[-] XTL@sopuli.xyz 2 points 4 months ago

Since legislators realized that mopeds had been invented.

[-] rockSlayer@lemmy.world 8 points 4 months ago

Smh that's clearly a class 0.5 ebike and drivers just need to share the road /s
