Anyone else migrating from reddit?
The vast majority of users on lemmy and kbin are from the recent reddit exodus :)
The main alternative sub is !transgender@lemmy.ml

Reddit expat as well! Would love a FTM community if I can find one (thusly lurking here)
I noticed the lack of one, and totally would've started it myself but it felt weirdly encroaching since I'm trans fem. Someone should definitely get one started :)
Yes!! Im also SUPER excited about finding blahaj lemmy and a lgbt community. I hope reddit dies off at this point because theres sooo much innovation happening now
Also slowly migrating from Reddit. I was never really active until very lately and mostly I have been just answering questions and trying to help people figure out they aren't alone in the world.
I'm from Reddit too. I had a weird bunch of subs for barefoot running, ergonomic keyboards, movies and such. Kinda "bro-y” maybe but it was also fun and queer.
I'm hoping to find some of the same things here on Lemmy.
i just uninstalled rif, as it is going down at the end of the month anyway. what mobile clients are yall using?
Using Jerboa at the moment. That and a version of Kiwi browser with about a hundred extensions added to it. I still have Boost installed but it's going to go away too most likely.
Yup, I'm quitting Reddit mostly because i use 3rd party apps to browse it. I hope some of the other communities i follow migrate as well.
I'm also subscribed to the transfem community on Raddle. It's at https://raddle.me/f/transfem
I am also hoping to make this a new home.
Currently giving it a try(along with other alternatives). Main thing is going to be finding different groups to join on here.
Yup! I'm quitting Reddit because of everything they're doing. Since the protests, the quality of my feed is significantly less, and I don't really want to support them. Time to migrate and help an actual alternative get off the ground!
Me :3
So far I’ve found this community, !traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns@lemmy.ca !egg_irl@lemmy.ml !transgender@lemmy.ml
and not trans-specific, !lgbtq_plus@beehaw.org
(How do I make proper links to communities? I know I’ve seen it done but idk how xD)
@bootyberrypancakes @WrenofDelpan
I believe you used the link feature correctly (normally the client takes care of resolving it without redirecting to a different website (not sure how lemmy handles it))
If you want to access/repost old reddit memes, there were bots to mirror some subreddits to the fediverse: @egg_irl_bot @traabot
(Note: I'm not sure if lemmy supports opening these and these are only bots, but maybe someone looking for memes might find them helpful)
Also if this gets through:
Hello from my akkoma instance.
Got to love the fediverse for all of these communities to interact with one another.
oh we already have egg_irl as well? Sweet :3
I've pretty much given up on Reddit at this point. Love the community here and on Mastodon!
I did! I joined the blahaj lemmy community! Nice n gay over here <3
Fellow former redditor here! Lemmy already has some great groundwork for the trans community, and its only grown since I got here. I'm done with reddit for good, I have faith in the community of lemmy. It might be smaller scale but I dont think that takes away from it at all!
Feels a lot like the first week of a new reddit sub, and a little like reddit when I first joined in 2009.
I hope it keeps the good parts without the garbage.
I am
I'm trying to, yes. I'm just hoping we see some r/traaa revival in the future
Yes, I was active on reddit. I live here now.
Also here from reddit. It's gonna be real hard breaking the muscle memory of visiting that site tho. My attempt to switch to mastodon from Twitter didn't go very far because everyone I cared about following went off in about 6 different directions, so I'm hoping this goes better.
Yeah, migrating out of Reddit because of The Horrors. I'm averse to Mastodon because I have some trauma from my time on Twitter and hate the form factor for related reasons, even if my experience on Mastodon was that most people there were nice.
Same! My reddit 3rd party app stopped working, so I moved here.
I just switched to try it out. I am surprisingly impressed! Signed up on a server, subscribed to a bunch of communities, downloaded a mobile app, and pretty much have a similar experience, maybe even better in some ways. But definitely missing some content still, but maybe if more people come over?
Just found out about Lemmy. Hoping to see some Reddit refugees as time goes on
Yup!
I hope someone with responsible type character traits creates a lem place for me to talk about Street Fighter 6 and the upcoming Final Fantasy XVI and other stuff.
I am hoping to be able to use Lemmy as well. I am still too new to know of any communities yet.
