Or how about just WOMAN and leave it at that? I didn't transition to be trans, ya know..
this, unless the conversation is about my transition just call me a woman
Yeah, I just refer to people as their preferred pronouns? Like it's pretty easy. I just have to repeat what they tell me. If I don't know their pronouns I just use the ancient secret technique of calling them by their name....crazy I know.
piefed user in_my_honest_opinion knowledgeable on the way to refer someone by name pleases ✕⍯ greatly. Perhaps form strong bond continued grammar over? 🤜🫷
I just don't know any scenario where anyone would specify trans woman or male to female unless someone was self identifying on the internet.
I think I have the equivalence of facial blindness for gender, so I really know not to make assumptions greater than something like dresses are usually worn by people presenting as feminine. But then again I am really out of touch with fashion, so I'm not even totally confident about that.
Maybe some people make a habit of clocking people in public? But I honestly don't know how anyone goes about doing so with any confidence. A while ago people were using their pronouns when introducing themselves at my work and that was soo helpful for me, now I just avoid pronouns all together unless people use them in front of me first.
They probably don't really care if they're disrespectful or wrong. The only person I've had do that immediately made it clear he fetishizes trans women and doesn't even respect their pronouns and opted for using pronouns usually used by transphobic people to refer to me and others like me and still tried asking me out to lunch alone...
I guess I hadn't thought of that.... I suppose it makes sense that a person who doesn't respect a random woman, doesn't respect women general.
Ahh the bigoted chaser, why is this such a common entity? You would think if you really had the hots for a specific group of people you would learn not to cock block yourself by automatically being a complete ghoul. I guess it's almost a good thing these types flag themselves as fetishists so often, might be worse off if they learn to fake human decency.
It reminds me of people talking about gay marriage. The qualifiers are useful only in the context where it actually matters. Like equal rights. It's not like after getting the right to vote, women started women voting. I don't gay-verb things on a day to day basis, as funny as it would be to say I gay-cook and gay-brush-my-teeth.
