As someone who's not familiar with the LA area, it blows my mind that those things are basically in the middle of an urban area.
I visited once and it is really funny how you drive through normal looking suburbs thinking "there is no way we are anywhere near Mintaka III" then suddenly there it is.
Not this. This is pretty far removed from urban. 40 miles doesn’t seem like much unless you drove 2 hours to get there.
40 miles from Universal Studios that is.
40 miles? I thought this was in the TMZ.
Perhaps "urban" is the wrong word, but it ain't exactly Cestus III, y'know?
I mean, Raffi lived here. Memory Alpha says the appearances in PIC are Vasquez Rocks, not a differently named location.
Just keep in mind our "SoCal" urban area is pretty fucking enormous, it sort of engulps the areas of natural beauty, connecting multiple cities, and we have too many cars. I love it, but visitors often have unrealistic expectations of how many places they can get to in a day.
Yep. Many people for example mistakenly think Los Angeles is near Disneyland.
