You can't understand his ironman levels of genius because of your below-billionnaire mind

The person who decided of this should be fired. Same for 77+33

Only keeping the regular cameras was a genius move to hold back their full autonomy plans

XMPP Works fine when it's setup or when you don't manage the hosting, but God is it painful to self host an xmpp server. Then you have the clients that are all basically 10 years old at this point, except maybe Dino for linux. It even needs a special setup to work on restricted networks via port 80/443 because it wants port 5222 and 5223, and let me tell you, I've spent over a week trying to setup that reverse proxy, it was hell. I've never Hosted matrix so maybe it's worse, but this isn't the end of my gripes with xmpp. Most basic communication features in 2024 such as replies reactions quoting threads etc.etc. are unsupported ootb, and you need both a client that supports the extensions (often very slow to adapt "new" standards AND a server that has enabled the plugin for that feature.

Xmpp is plain old, and like many like to think, no xmpp was not "triple-E'd", people simply stopped using it because it's really inconvenient and the UX is horrible.

You should probably check their Reddit, I've seen many people complaining about the shipping, longevity and customer support. I don't know how much of it is substantiated but still, some research can't hurt

The entire point of AI as it stands right now is to allow more of those layoffs. Anyone telling otherwise is a liar.

Also I hate how currently, AI is used to remove the fun parts of creating things at a computer. Take coding for example, I think I can speak for many people when I say that the fun part of their job, is not the planning or the meetings, it's the actual coding and stumbling upon a hard problem to solve. Now with AI you the human will only keep the boring parts of the job!

At least he is more civilized and doesn't have a cult following (...yet)

To be honest I would trust him more than Trump in terms of not launching a nuclear war and ending society. From what I saw in the debates he can actually be civilized and be a normal adult (albeit with bad opinions)

Basically all I'm saying is he's not an embarrassment to the country unlike Trump who's a plain child

Like... In my opinion, a hole is when it does not go through, and when it does, it becomes a tunnel. A straw is a tunnel. A hole in a piece of paper is a tunnel. A bowl is a hole.

Je savais que les Québécois étaient en général légèrement meilleurs en termes d'épargne que le reste du Canada et surtout des USA, mais pas à ce point. Cool!

Hello all, for a few weeks/months now, my computer has stopped going into suspend mode. Here is what happens when putting it to sleep (using GNOME's power menu) or using systemctl suspend:

  1. Display turns off, peripherals turn off (keyboard lights off etc), fans spin up before sleep as usual
  2. Fans go back to idle speed, computer stays on
  3. Have to press the keyboard, wake the display up and go in the power menu again to suspend it (from the lock screen), and it works every time like this.

I have no idea what could be preventing suspend and what I could find online did not really help a lot. I don't think it is a USB device because I tried unplugging most of them except my mouse or my keyboard and it still did not work, and the second time on the lock screen it always suspends like intended

I just got the update on my phone on Google play, Firefox now supports 3rd party password managers for passkeys (on android 14+). Just tried it, and I got prompted with my 3rd party password manager, so it works!

Every affected company should be extremely thankful that this was an accidental bug, because if crowdstrike gets hacked, it means the bad actors could basically ransom I don't know how many millions of computers overnight

Not to mention that crowdstrike will now be a massive target from hackers trying to do exactly this

UPDATE IN COMMENTS!!

Hey there, I don't know if any of you noticed something similar recently, but I have noticed my cursors have gone HUGE, like 2x what it should be at least. I think this is related to the affected apps using a beta version of Libadwaita 1.6, but I just wanted to confirm here before I create an issue in the repo. I use 200% scaling, GNOME 45, Fedora 39. Does anybody else have this problem? Thanks!!

How it should look (in Pods, firefox and most other apps)

How it looks in Ptyxis

How it looks in Adwaita Demo (latest update, which bumped the libadwaita version to 1.6)

Rockstar has revealed the GTA 6 trailer earlier than expected, probably because it was leaked on Twitter. I think it looks amazing!!

I can't wait to see what the community does with the images and what we will know almost for sure before the release
