Here I thought I didn't have one of The Names, then I notice one of my nicknames in there...

True. Maybe they think keeping a low profile will minimize the disruption while we diversify, but hoping for a return to a status quo is just naive. Putting up a flight might get him some flak from those impacted by the trade war, but appeasement and compromise don't work with fascists.

We should have hit them with the digital services tax and used that to fund relief projects. Tax the foreign rich. But this is Carney so we get austerity instead.

Internet: I've used teksavvy in the past and had a good experience. It's not independent infrastructure ~~(nothing is)~~ Mobile: freedom (formerly wind) has it's own network. It was acquired so isn't quite the scrappy underdog standing up to oligopoly it used to be, but it still seems like the best option. My phone prices have actually gone down over time with them

To clarify, by polycule I mean the total chain of romantic relationships. Currently it's four of us living together, and two more living together as a couple where me and my chosen family member have been dating one of them for years. For most of it, the section living together was three of us, romantically a v but more than that we think of eachother as chosen family.

It definitely helps with financial stability insofar as there's a lot of buffer when someone is between jobs, but otherwise it's not all that different. Housing space needs scale with number of people in the family, after all. We're starting to look in to purchasing a house together, and to an extent the purchasing power of four working professionals helps there, but if we also want kids it means looking at big houses so again it kinda evens out. There's also an added layer of legal complexity that becomes necessary with home ownership - we don't have a ready made framework like marriage.

Edit: I realized I didn't answer your first question. It depends. Not as much as a traditional monogamous married family would - we mostly have separate bank accounts. But we share most of our expenses (even split for ease) and have income-scaled split of rent.

I wouldn't necessarily describe blood bowl as simple, but it definitely has emergent complexity. The core rules of movement and blocking are straightforward once you wrap your head around them, but layering on team asymmetry, skills, probability, and the game state can lead to some seriously crunchy tactics.

Maybe sometimes you gotta shitpost the shitpost with sincerity. Maybe sometimes you don't particularly care about loss references. Maybe it's Maybelline. I don't think we'll ever know.

No shade to Civ 5, it was just a case of I realized my tastes had changed. It took me a few games to be really playing it for that to be able to sink in.

It's perhaps not the best example of the broader point, but I would have to write a literal essay to say why I'm lukewarm on Rimworld, and it would probably piss off the gamers.

Sweet Liberty! That's really worth considering. I could see that working well for deadeye+sword vs squids

IIRC that's how snappy the aiming is - how long it takes for the barrel of the gun to catch up with where the cursor is aimed. (The circle reticule that follows the cursor)

Your commitment to Liberty and Individualism are commendable, citizen 🫡 the mindless bugs will never see it coming.
