Yeah, definitely hoping they consider bringing that to windows at some point, because it could be incredible. Obviously ultra-complicated, but it works unbelievably well on Series X. Being able to say, skip the loading of an emulator and hop directly back into the middle of a level in Demon Souls, jumping past all the logos and whatnot, would be amazing.

Man, I've been console for ages, but this January I bought a gaming PC and hooked it up as my dedicated console, and it's been amazing. If you like a bit of tinkering, PC can dominate as a console.

• Playnite makes an amazing front end, stitching together everything my PC can do. Emulators, Steam, itch.io stuff, GoG and Epic and Xbox Game Pass, all seamlessly stitched together and 100% controller accessible.
• Emulators are fantastic, my PC plays Switch, PS3, Wii, everything.
• Real settings are a godsend, as is more powerful hardware. Actually play Elden Ring at a proper framerate. Play old games in true 4K/120.
• Tinker like crazy. Mods, ReShade, actual in-game settings, GPU Driver settings, if it bugs you, you can do something about it. Currently messing with emulating Demon Souls with ReShade, some mods, and connecting to RPCN for online multiplayer, and it's a delight.
• More powerful hardware too. Great to be able to push games past console, in whatever way you prefer. I'm already planning a GPU upgrade to be able to do more.
• Heck, even sharing features. My GPU can save 5 minutes or more of instant replay clips, which I used to save all of my Elden Ring boss fights, just hitting a controller shortcut when I killed the boss. My PC shares those via FTP, so I can just grab those on my phone and upload them to YouTube. Faster than Xbox uploads, and actually my files, with no arbitrary storage cutoff like I hit on Xbox.

Basically the only thing I miss is Xbox's Quick Resume, or suspending a game on Switch. But a good PC fires up games fast, so it's really not a huge loss in the face of all the benefits.

They've done a surprisingly good job of maintaining this scene, actually.

Rebels: Kanan is dead by now, and Ezra would be lost in deep space at this point. Yoda also wouldn't know about either.

Mara Jade: 100% still a Sith Assassin right now. Also not Disney canon or anyone Yoda would hear about.

Ahsoka: This is the best candidate, since Yoda would know about her, and likely regret the decisions that forced her to leave the Jedi Council, making it weird to dispute her status as "Jedi". The most favourable assumption is that he assumes she's dead.

All said, remarkable protection of an Episode 5 made before episodes 1, 2, 3, multiple TV shows, novels, and sequels.

Honestly, makes sense, the active voice version is just... more efficient and easier to parse quickly.

Despite the massive amount of comments here, I still don't see anyone talking about my personal issue with PvP here.

It's ranked matchmaking. In order to keep things working at all, you have to pair players with players of a similar skill. And this means that fundamentally you don't get a sense of progression besides an MMR ranking. Your win rate will always be roughly 50%, unless you either smurf, or become the literal best in the world. Compare that to tough PvE games, like Doom Eternal, or a brutal platformer, where you can raise your difficulty, beat stuff you could've never beaten before, and generally see your progression. Heck, if you want to relax, just put the difficulty back or crush some earlier levels. I love to go back and learn to speedrun some of my favourite platformers, and that feels awesome. Games like Souls are also great at this, when you have to explore an earlier area and the enemies are just... so easy and satisfying to roll through. Or moments like in Sekiro, when you go into NG+ or just start a new playthrough and crush Genichiro on the first encounter.

And this whole thing is just.. so fundamentally necessary for PvP to work, you can't let new players get utterly crushed by veterans, so it's not something anyone is going to "fix". But I'm not hopping onto an endless treadmill that's never going to give me a sense of mastery. Especially not with so many other fantastic games out there I want to check out.

For sure, valid to fear the enshittification of steam. But they aren't killing proton. Maybe ignoring proton at worst. But Steam has profit motivations for not being reliant on Windows, which has actively been trying to supplant them with the Windows Store for years.

As another separate, profit-motivated company, with a gaming division and a lot to gain from eating Steam's lunch, Microsoft is not Steam's friend. Proton is a critical bargaining tool for them, and not having to include windows licenses for devices like the Steam Deck helps their costs too.

A lot of assuming that this project was dead serious in here.... he's a college student, presumably working on a senior project or something. Hooking up a glasses display, to his phone with a mic and the ChatGPT API isn't a massive endeavour, either, and this is funny as all hell if you assume he's mocking the industry and being tongue-in-cheek. RizzGPT? Charisma As A Service?

I think maybe you're out of the loop here. This is part of a trend to screw over bots that automatically steal art and sell it on random sites. That's why others are commenting stuff like "I'd buy this on a t-shirt!".

The tactic has already been proven to work several times, when people post stuff like this, and then report the shops that steal it to Disney's legal team. It's a clever way to leverage Disney's lawyers to protect regular artists who couldn't afford to sue all these random websites.

Agreed. The upload schedule has been a holy grail within LTT for a long time, and I truly believe it's the root of all of this, yes, even the sexual harassment. Or at least how that harassment was handled so poorly. When do you have time to make good HR policies? Pull people into HR for reprimanding? Have opportunities for others to second guess decisions? Do training? Or heck, even just have less tired and irritable people making in-the-moment stupid decisions?

This uncompromising maximum velocity hurts everyone, and I hope they keep never bring it back to this pace, even after the process improvements they have planned.

Hmmm, tbh, I don't think that's a feature I'd want. Every now and again you see "that guy" furious that he's getting downvotes, doubling down and trying to start an argument or something. I don't need that guy showing up in my DMs.

This is very intriguing.... I actually work in CBC (nowhere near content or with the social media people who'd make these kinds of decisions), but as a developer I get 20% time to dabble with anything I think might be useful. I haven't used it in a while, but a CBC ActivityPub instance may be just the right project, especially if it can auto-publish our content from the same feeds that power our site.
