A bbeg searching desperately for a cure for lycanthropy, so that he stops being a goody two-shoes every full moon, and ruining his plans.

[-] TheGiantKorean@lemmy.world 70 points 2 years ago

wakes up from turning to find that he's released the heroes he captured, healed their wounds, mended their gear, and sent them off on their way with a few loaves of banana bread he baked for them "GOD DAMMIT"

[-] LeafOnTheWind@lemmy.world 22 points 2 years ago

Sort of a Jekyll and Hyde situation.

[-] VikingHippie@lemmy.wtf 16 points 2 years ago

Except in this version, Dr Jekyll is less a severely irresponsible chemist and more of a medical doctor who likes baking and doesn't let bananas go to waste.

[-] mindbleach@sh.itjust.works 11 points 2 years ago

Other way around. Jekyll is a classic mad scientist, and he secretly transforms into Ned Flanders.

It's kinda cool that on full moons a good creature keeps showing up and aiding the heroes and thwarting the BBEGs lieutenants, and it turns out it's the BBEG who can't remember doing it; It's a good way to color them an nuanced and not entirely evil while still hamming up the campy villainy the rest of the time.

This was an episode of American Dad lol.

[-] eighty@lemmy.one 3 points 2 years ago

remind what episode? I can't recall

[-] Shyfer@ttrpg.network 7 points 2 years ago

"Cock of the Sleepwalk" - Episode 11, Season 9 or 10 (I'm getting different results in Google, it's very confusing).

Here's him waking up at the orphanage.

Then you have a huge propaganda campaign by a corrupt lord to stop all lycanthropy and flush out the werebears

[-] FaceDeer@kbin.social 35 points 2 years ago

And heroes who are doing everything they can to spread werebear lycanthropy far and wide. Biting the corrupt lord is the win condition.

Biting the corrupt lord is the win condition

Just like real life!

The werebears object to the plan because that's chaotic good

[-] Swedneck@discuss.tchncs.de 5 points 2 years ago

the will of the people must make it lawful

"And thats why we all eat honey and knock over eachother's trash cans at the monthly Care Festival!"

I've often thought that an all werebear society is the optimal decision for both werebears and society. It's not a curse at all, it's a blessing. Werebears would want people to act like them while the average person would want to have good compulsions and be far more powerful on top of that.

Made me think of Daniel Tosh's bit about polite tourette's. An uncontrollable impulse, but pleasant.

Lovely HAT!
