To be fair; Some people just have shitty friends.
Could be a sign one hasn't fully realized yet that they're shitty friends.
Me: important meeting, better be sharp
Brain: best I can do is sweaty armpits and forgetting what to say
Driving with no one around on a nice day.
My brain: OMG PULL OVER IMMEDIATELY YOU'RE GOING TO PASS OUT! GET OUT AND BREATHE! OMG! PANIC!
God I hate my brain...

I lost a lot of good friends in my younger days before learning to deal with my social anxiety because I would get so anxious and end up flaking on them. It got so bad I just stopped accepting most invitations to do things and eventually they just stopped inviting me altogether and we slowly drifted apart. Then that fed into depression which would make my anxieties worse and so on so forth until I decided to see a therapist to try and figure out how to deal. So anyway... Relatable.
How you doin now? Asking for me...

They kind of are and therein lies promise.
When you ask a pro athlete, "are you nervous about the big game coming up?", they will inevitably say, "I'm excited".
And it's that act of saying it aloud that actively reframes it in the mind.
