President Donald Trump’s endorsement wasn’t enough to power Mike Lindell to the Republican nomination for governor in Minnesota. The former MyPillow CEO is projected to lose to Minnesota House Speaker Lisa Demuth in Tuesday’s Republican primary.

Lindell is a conspiracy theorist and strong supporter of Trump and his outlandish claims that voter fraud corrupted the 2020 presidential election. His advocacy made him a target for a series of defamation lawsuits but won Trump’s support.

“Mike Lindell deserves a BIG WIN IN MINNESOTA today,” Trump said Tuesday on his Truth Social platform. “Nobody has worked harder, and given up so much, in fighting for free and fair Elections.”

Though he had support from the national leader of the Republican Party, Minnesota Republicans wanted someone else to be their standard-bearer in the governor’s race, endorsing health care industry executive Kendall Qualls.

Minnesota Republican Party chairman Alex Plechash said Minnesota Republicans were surprised when Trump endorsed Lindell in July.

“We strongly support the President and his agenda, but Minnesota Republicans must choose the candidate best positioned to defeat Amy Klobuchar,” Plechash said in a statement last month

Mike has gone from snorting cocaine to snorting cocaine cut with baking soda to now snorting baking soda cut with Ajax cleaner. God speed lumpy pillow guy.

Why is every MAGA person just a grifter who smells their own farts for fun?

[-] DonkeyStar@lemmy.world 5 points 8 hours ago

Same thing happened in GA. Trump just moved on and endorsed the one that beat his pick.

[-] Doomsider@lemmy.world 5 points 10 hours ago

Oh darn, the guy who chopped up discarded mattresses and put them in pillows had another setback. Don't worry, I am sure Trump will just appoint him to some important position soon.

[-] Veedem@lemmy.world 30 points 16 hours ago

This guy blew it all and got NOTHING back at any single point lol. It’s incredible.

[-] Sackett@thelemmy.club 10 points 12 hours ago

Dude went from a homeless addict to a millionaire and decided to throw it all away for Trump. Incredible.

[-] protist@retrofed.com 3 points 12 hours ago

Oh man, Q Anon Anonymous did an episode on Mike Lindell's life, and this guy's entire life is punctuated by making it big and losing it all over and over. His life could be the plot of an Oscar-worthy movie

[-] gork@feddit.online 15 points 14 hours ago

How long until he whines that it's RIGGED and that he'll "investigate" it

Are the "cyber ninjas" on the case?

[-] Thebeardedsinglemalt@lemmy.world 1 points 12 hours ago

Cyber police are on the way, because he done goofed.

[-] 4am@lemmy.zip 1 points 12 hours ago

Yeah like he’s literally refusing to concede, stating his “experts” have “uncovered anomalies”. He was supposed to have had a press conference by now…

[-] suigenerix@lemmy.world 1 points 7 hours ago

I'm in no way an expert on election matters, but I believe the next step in the playbook is to enrage his supporters, and get them to storm the state capitol building.

Then comes the press conference where he can blatantly lie about how he was in no way responsible for it.

[-] Thebeardedsinglemalt@lemmy.world 2 points 12 hours ago

The same "experts" who had mountains of evidence of 2020 tampering 🙄

[-] daychilde@lemmy.world 1 points 10 hours ago

Just a quick reminder that he doesn't need to concede. It makes no difference. (I've been in plenty of threads where folks don't realize that)

[-] daychilde@lemmy.world 4 points 10 hours ago

Just a quick reminder that nobody ever has to concede. They win or lose and that's that. In case anyone was worried.

[-] Buddahriffic@lemmy.world 1 points 10 hours ago

If anyone ever gets a time machine, please be sure to go back to 2000 and inform Al Gore of this, along with "you playing nice won't make them play nice".

[-] Catma@lemmy.world 13 points 15 hours ago

Isnt he claiming fraud already and not conceding?

Are there odds Trump does an early test run here to put Lindell into the race and show clear "voter fraud"?

By voter fraud i mean people actually just voting

[-] Triumph@fedia.io 5 points 14 hours ago

And we're talking about a Republican primary, not the general.

[-] boobookittyfrick@lemmy.zip 5 points 13 hours ago

Oh my god theres no fucking way this guy is running for office. At least everyone will get a free pillow right? … right?!?

[-] OwOarchist@pawb.social 1 points 10 hours ago

Sure, you get a free "pillow".

(Actually a lumpy bag of industrial waste foam cutoff pieces.)

[-] Gates9@sh.itjust.works 3 points 12 hours ago
[-] HumanOnEarth@lemmy.ca 4 points 13 hours ago

The guy literally looks like he ate Tweety Bird and is holding him captive in his mouth.

[-] UselessAsshole@lemmy.world 1 points 13 hours ago

OH BULLSHIT.

He clearly looks exactly like Charlie Kelly's weird uncle from always sunny.

[-] funkreddit@lemmy.zip 11 points 17 hours ago

Back to the crack you go lindell

[-] Eternal192@anarchist.nexus 4 points 13 hours ago

It's a simple concept, just vote for anyone that isn't associated with Trump.

[-] SecretSauces@lemmy.world 8 points 16 hours ago
[-] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 3 points 13 hours ago

So the crackhead conspiracy theorist who was endorsed by the Pedo-in-Chief lost? How could this have happened?

[-] Buddahriffic@lemmy.world 1 points 10 hours ago

He reminds me of Charlie's weird uncle from Always Sunny.

[-] AgentSeven@lemmy.zip 2 points 12 hours ago

haha Republicans are such morons. They voted for a health care industry executive as their "standard bearer" because of course they did. Not this this shitbird would have been better, just sayin'.

[-] Trampampoline@sh.itjust.works 4 points 15 hours ago

Back to the rekt center, Republicuck.

[-] eggpl4nt@lemmy.world 1 points 11 hours ago

It feels sad that I felt relief that he didn't win. That's how low my faith is in the electorate at this point.

[-] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 3 points 8 hours ago

Demuth might be worse.

She was the ringleader for the state house coup back in 2025 (where they tried to elect her speaker of the house after playing games with absent members.)

[-] eggpl4nt@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago

Now, to be fair, looking into the results of a Republican primary and expecting to feel hopeful is like going to the barn animals exhibit at a county fair and expecting to smell something other than animal shit.

[-] prole 2 points 14 hours ago

Thank. Fuck.

[-] JasonDJ@lemmy.zip 1 points 12 hours ago

In a parallel universe, Billy Mayes is here as the hypeman for Bernie Sanders, and following Bernie's 2 terms, he went on to become governor of Pennsylvania.

[-] rafoix@lemmy.zip 3 points 16 hours ago

I was really hoping he would win. It would be hilarious.

[-] baronvonj@piefed.social 10 points 15 hours ago

That's what a lot of people from center to left thought about Trump in 2016.

[-] Soulphite@reddthat.com 1 points 12 hours ago

When America plays with their politics and votes like it's a game instead of serious life decision... like when UK vote to rename a vessel... "Boaty McBoatface" just because it'd be funny...

[-] baronvonj@piefed.social 0 points 12 hours ago

I knew someone who voted for Bob Dole in the 1996 general election for no other reason than wanting more of Norm McDonald's impression of him on SNL.

[-] Fishnoodle@lemmy.world 3 points 17 hours ago

Now put a pillow over your head and shoot yourself in the face

[-] kurmudgeon@lemmy.world 3 points 17 hours ago

Good! His pillows are lumpy as hell.

[-] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 1 points 13 hours ago

Damn shame. That would have been the funniest race of 2026, bar none.

[-] hoppeduponcoffee@lemmy.zip 2 points 15 hours ago

I wish this punchable douche would’ve won, it would’ve ensured Klobuchar’s win.

[-] TryingToBeGood@reddthat.com 1 points 14 hours ago
[-] IhaveCrabs111@lemmy.world 1 points 14 hours ago

Holy shit. My pillow guy or a health care exec. The worst society has to offer leading the charge. Awful voting base.
