People that don't like pineapple on their food are just not adventurous enough to get digested back.
Some people can only dish it, I guess

I don't mind pineapple on pizza. And pineapple of nachos sounds awesome. With jalapenos, red onion and meat?
Yeah, gimme
Right? Sweet, hot, salty, savoury and fatty all in one bite.
I can confirm that chicken, jalapeno, and pineappole are great together. I'd try those nachos in a heartbeat.
what about pineapple steak

Does the broccoli side not have onions? Wtf?
Is it controversial? Pineapple is a common ingredient in salsa here.
Same here. Some like it since it gives nice sweetness. I don't care for it.
On pizza it works with some toppings. Chicken hawaii is great for example
I was just thinking that. Mango, too. Nice for a change once in a while.
People who get pissy off of pineapple on pizza are so corny. It's like level 1 controversy types of foods. We got countries putting spaghetti and squid on pizza.
The most "normal" thing on pizza I don't like is corn. I like corn in general but I don't want it on my pizza (although not enough to not eat the slice if someone hands it to me).
But then again Japan puts a lot of odd things on pizza, like canned tuna and dollops of potato salad.
As far as I can tell, people mostly complain on the internet. IRL it's always on the menu and nobody comments about it.
One time I ordered a pineapple pizza at a cafe/game store with a room where we were staying the night. The person taking my order gave me shit for it when I ordered, after the group ordered, and when they brought out the food.
Not playful banter or little jokes, just legitimately talking about how gross my order was. Chicken & pineapple pizza for reference, I think it was even a named special on the menu.
All that to say, they exist and they are just as infuriating IRL.
Pizzas are like burgers, tacos, and salads to me. I've had enough "fusion" food to know they're just vehicles to deliver the toppings you enjoy. The skys the limit IMO, go nuts there's no rules, do it however you like.
I'm convinced it was never the pineapple which set off their distaste, but rather the shitty ham that comes on hawaiian pizza from some chains.
The shitty ham certainly did not help. Picking off the pineapple left sad in it’s place.
nullspace@lemmy.world I don't think most people losing their minds over pineapple on pizza have ever tried it. I think they just think the idea of fruit on a pizza is wrong.
These people probably have never tasted a properly ripe tomato, either.
Al pastor has pineapple. I like that.
The last time I had street tacos without pineapple was... I think I was in the Midwest. They were not good. I think they used a flour tortilla and I think the lady serving me was Italian.
This sounds delicious.

Ok I'm ready
...tha fuck, is that broccoli?
It is.
I fuck with pineapple. It’s like bbq sauce in fruit form.

Maybe it's because I don't use BBQ sauce during sex, but I don't understand fucking with pineapple
Pineapples contain bromelain, an enzyme that breaks down proteins, even in human flesh, earning them the nickname "the fruit that eats you back".
I passed out while eating a pineapple drunk once to wake up in the morning with my face all burnt.
I would not suggest sticking your dick in it.
With broccoli!
That's the real crime here.
I also like broccoli on pizza a lot.
Me too! When we both inevitably go to hell for our culinary sins, we should hang out!

hell's kitchen?
for our culinary sins
Yeah that's cool with me
Get out
Yeah, pineapple? Totally fine. Broccoli? Straight to jail!
Straight to jail.
I'd eat them.
Throw some pork / chorizo on it and call it al pastor. I'll eat it even with broccoli
I'd fuck this up so quick. I've been on a pineapple kick for a while now.
I used to make these all the time. Based mine off of some tacos from a now-closed Denver restaurant. Mine featured spiced ground beef, pepper jack, caramelized piña, diced avocado, black beans, and a light drizzle of habanero mayo. Dang, now I'm hungry.
Oh I want to give this a try!
I looked through the comments you reported and looked at the reasons for them from the information that survived your banning in the other group.
I can't see any reason to take action on those reports. No rules were broken and from what I can see it appears that their comments accurately reflect what happened elsewhere.
There's a popular pub here that's had pineapple on their nachos since... forever, I think. They're good nachos.
I don't get why everyone's continually upset at pineapple. It's not like they're bananas!
