It was probably when I bought my Link Between Worlds 3DS XL. I bought physical cartridges for it, but I think I was getting them on Amazon mostly. When I got the switch my whole collection was digital downloads.

Game Gear game, Castle of Illusion. Huge childhood nostalgia for that game and it wasn't too expensive either. Got it just a year or two ago at an Another Castle in the Seattle area to use with my Analogue Pocket

Used game store in town has gotten a small mint from me. Last one was Metroid dead I believe.

When The Witcher 3 came out I had the money and bought it shortly after release at a local shop, because my net connection then was way too slow to download anything measured in gigabytes.

I think it was a set of 3 CDs. I took them home, started installing, and then found out that 3 CDs was nowhere near enough and it wanted to download somewhere in the 10s of gigabytes before I could play. It took about three days.

Got Fantasy Life i on switch just two weeks ago.

Technically a Japanese cartridge because it's the only physical edition, but it!s the same as the e-shop, all included languages and compatible with the Switch 2 upgrade patch.

I am still buying Switch 2 physical games, but only if they're actually on the cartridge and not that empty keycard bullshit.

L4D2 - it upset me that the disc just had an install of Steam and I would have to download it.

I really miss when buying PC games was fun.

I honestly can't remember. I bought a couple of physical 3DS games semi-recently, but those were ordered online. I bought Rayman Legends on the PS4 for my sister from a physical game store like 12 years ago? Might genuinely be that.

Probably Super Mario Bros. Wonder or LoZ Echoes of Eisdom. I will continue to buy physical games from local stires until it's no longer an option.

Oldrim. Was just a steam on cd if I remember right so if that doesn't count it would be Neverwinter Nights.

Horizon: Forbidden West. If we put a few PS5 games aside, I suspect it was Orange Box.

Resident Evil 9. Especially now with Sony's weird "phone home every 30 days or lose it" for digital games, I feel like it's more important than ever to buy as much physically as possible. I get so annoyed when games are released as digital only, or now with Nintendo's game key cartridges.

Somebody left a ps4 game on the bus one time. I brought it home only to realize it was someone's mixtape left in an old game case so somebody would pick it up. That's guerilla marketing.

I order physical copies online often, but can't even remember the last one I bought at a proper brick and mortar retail store. Last year I did buy a copy of Soldam and Super Puyo Puyo Tsu from a vendor at a gaming convention, does that still count as retail?

I’ve picked up quite a few old DS and 3DS games over the last couple of years. There is a Book Off location nearby that sells all kinds of used console games. I stop by every few weeks to look at their book and video game selection.

I think the last one I purchased was a TMNT game for the DS.

The last physical game purchase I made was a physical copy of Phantasy Star Online 2 for the PS4. Now, you might be thinking "Sanctus, thats a free to play game! What do you mean?" and for the life of me I can't remember the point of the purchase. Probably something to do with in-game currency and me being a dress-up chad.

We have a couple near us. We bought a SNES/nes combo device and got a ton of old games. It was fun getting my wife and I childhood games.

Ghost of Youtei. I like to swap some games with my sister and this is still the best way to do it. And it's pretty easy to resell story games here after you are done with them.

Bloodborne on the PS4 when it first came out was the last physical game I bought. Not sure why I did cause all my other PS4 games were digital.

I think mine was in Akihabara last year for some (dirt cheap) second hand Switch games, but besides that I have no idea where or when.

Until recently I was buying second hand games for my Xbox One. Then I got a Steam Deck and that was that.

I still buy physical, last I got was Kirby Air Riders with an Amiibo because I couldn't believe they made a sequel. The price was a hard pill to swallow though.

Splatoon 3. Kinda regret getting into it though. Requires a subscription

A couple months back I picked up a copy of Resident Evil 2 for the N64 at a retro shop nearby. Honestly a great way to play the game. I don't really buy modern releases physically these days though since I play on PC.

Bioshock Infinite for PS3. I even pre-ordered.
